The Awlpike Groupfighting Tournament

A fast-paced, 5 vs 5, arena-based knockout tournament with awlpikes. Open to all, with cash prizes ranging from 50€ to 15€ for the top 3 finishing teams.


Groupfighting tournaments have existed in NW and MM for several years now, and they have become a well established part in the competitive culture of the NW community. We now wish to see a bit of cross-over between the competitive scene in NW and the competitive scene of Native to get a tournament with a high skill level that is as exiting to play in as it is to watch. For this reason we are hosting the Awlpike Groupfighting Tournament.

Our organisational team has hosted many tournaments and events in the past to a high degree of success, such as 18 NW & MM groupfighting tournaments as well as several Napoleonic Wars European Cups

Furthermore, since we organisers started playing competitive melee in MM we have always had a soft spot for awlpike-styled melee, and because of this we have finally decided to indulge ourselves and organise an event solely revolving around awlpikes and mm-styled melee.
 

 
The tournament will be held on Wednesday 18th of June 2014 at 19.00 BST (20.00 CEST). Usually Groupfighting Tournaments have a run-time of around 90 minutes.
 
We are also happy to announce that we are able to offer a cash prize for the winning, 2nd place and 3rd place teams of the tournament, the teams getting respectively 50€, 25€ and 15€, payable via paypal transfer.

1.1 Teams are to contain a minimum of 5 players.

1.2 Teams are allowed to have 5 persons fighting at any given time.

1.3 Team members may only be on one team.
 


2.1 Only Awlpikes are to be used

2.2 There are 9 rounds to every match (will stop once someone reaches 5 to save time). The Final and the Bronze Match will be in a first to 7 format instead.

2.3 The Combatants are not to leave the arena until the fight is over.

3.1 Common sense will be used by the organizers so anything not specifically mentioned may be enacted at the organizers discretion.

3.2 The severity and therefore the course of action following rule breaches will be up to the organizers to judge.

3.3 Don't argue with us mid-event, it unfairly slows things down for everyone else, speak to us afterwards if you feel that we have treated you unfairly.

As our experience with Native is limited compared to our experience with NW/MM we realise that we may have overlooked something, and if you feel that this is case we would be more than happy to hear from you to make sure that this tournament is the best possible experience for all participants.
