how to recruit noble from town/castle

I have search up on this topic, but I am too dumb and everyone is a genius, I can not find anything.
Therefore, I want to ask that do you need to be vassal of a faction or own the castle/town to recruit the noble troop.
I am a mercenary and I can't find the opinion to recruit noble via menu when I am in Castle/Town
Please answer and don't bash me too much.
P.s: I notice the Dark Ranger Bow look awful lot like Duskfall from POP and I am very happy(?). Anyway great mod 

You need to own that particular town or castle to be able to recruit.

IIRC, we used the same model for that bow with the Duskfall.

Own the place itself.
