Historically, the military of Epirus was a combination of Classic Greek know-how, Macedonian style troops, and Illyrian mercenaries. Pyrrhus also brought some elephants after the death of Alexander the Great. There was also some copies of Macedonian cavalry, but I think those were after the invasion of Rome. Whats interesting is that the Linothorax looks like it has some scale armor around the torso.

I think it was fairly common to sew scales onto the cuirass. The ones in that picture look pretty large, but that's just because the reproductions I've seen often have smaller scales in 5-8 rows. Around the top of the abdomen to the sternum, I'd say.
There isn't a thread for Koinon Hellenon that I saw, and Epirus is the closest city state to Isthmia, so here is a map of Isthmia in 300 BC. It might be cool to figure out a way to program in the Olympic and Isthmian games for once every four years.
