Some things I would like to see

Ok guys this is a thread about couple things I would like to see in next relies or in a future one.
Since this mod is holding to historical accuracy and real life events I will be explaining real life.
IM SORRY FOR LONG POST.
I don't know if someone said this all before so don't start raging at the start:

1. Diplomacy to get a little more work on it. This is what would be nice to see (don't know how much
hard this is but I still appreciate all the work you done in EU1200):
If a country you are in war with want's to make peace, they make a tribute,and via verse  (e.g. 10000gold,silk.
cattle,prisoners in exchange for treaty,(will talk about prisoners)).That would be done like this: You send one of you're companion as a messenger from you're court and he 'negotiate' the best solution for tribute. Then he returns to you after few days and gives you e.g. "King of France want's 10000 gold and 20heads of catlle for peace." If you agree you then go to you're town and talk to guild master and give him the demanded tribute and escort him to their king and peace will be done. I was thinking maybe be able to surrender specific castle/town for peace like in Knights of Honor game if you have played.But you have to gather the lords of realm and talk to them if they agree for the sake of country to surrender one castle/town.The reputation to owner of that castle/town will detoriet and have chance to leave court.

2. Prisoners that are in castles/towns to be able to get ransomed for gold after war.In real life prisoners take a lot of resources. As for now they are just standing in prison and whoever gets to capture that town/castle will get all the prisoners for their army.

3. I was thinking about this too : Prisoners can escape from you're prison, which results a couple of you're man in garrison killed during that. They would spawn as "rebels" or "escaped prisoners" and wearing the same armor as looters since they could only get few weapons and armor from guards killed during escape.

4. No catholic country should so easily attack The Papal State since middle ages people where fanatic. Sicily and Lombard League attacked in my game and destroyed in no more  than 5 months. Rome would have "immunity" and would be able to get attacked from other religion country's for no apparent  reason.They would be able to attack it if incidents about "stream diversion or stealing cattle and women". The Pope should be able to 'excuminate' the catholic country from church and make other catholic countries easily to declare war.

5. When computer wages war with other country they would seek to conquer castle/town more closer to their own land so it would be more easily defended.(I will tell what happened during my game): "Hungary and Sicily got in war with each other and Hungarians attacked and captured town of Palma which Sicily captured from Almohads." I doubt that in real life that would be really profitable,maybe after they vanquished Sicily or made them no more a naval force. And if possible to not ALL lords of a realm to attack one castle. Kingdom of England
attacked Eu from France with around 1000man and Eu had only 170man at defense. That would be impossible to defend. (This is from a gamers perspective since we could get caught in that same situation). That would ruin passion for a gamer to play.

6.This is more a question:"Why am I in truce with Kingdom of Buglaria with whom I never waged war neither had any accidents? It says that Im bound to truce and not attack them next 20 days and they can attack me. And I had reputation with them around 34-35 not sure right now.

7.Could it be possible to make Order's to make peace as soon as their 'mother countries' do? Order of Caltrava is bound to Castile,right? Castile declared war on me so do they. I beat and conquered pretty much of Castille and they wanted peace. But the Order continue to attack me and I was annoyed by them and destroyed the Order. And maybe make the "mother countries" come to aid their Orders when castles are under siege?

8.Make a quest "Save the princes". It would work like this:"You get a quest form lord when his castle is conquered.He  tells you where she is and when you come there you can do same as helping a lord escape by making a fire in village or pay ransom for her relies. Reward would be gold or honor from lord + relation to both of them.

9.Plagues. When a castle is too long under siege plague would hit it and soldiers would die or desert. Many examples in history can be found.And decrease food stocks during sieges.100 days are way too long for this game and they restart after 3 days if not under siege.

10. Silk Road.Neutral caravans with Chinese or other soldiers would come to minor asia and go as far  to Constantinople. They would carry alot of silk,spices,jewelry,etc. But they would only spawn at minor asia. (But IM not certian if Silk Road was before,during or after 1200).Take out silk building or at least make it more expensive to build.

11. In you're village if it's very poor or poor they would rebel if you don't have good relation with them.I was thinking this:'if you have good relation with them Village chief would give you a quest that would make them not to pay taxes till they poor or average.' Reward would be honor + relation.When you become lord of a village peasant rebels NEVER form. I know my village is -57rep with me.

12. Quest :"Bring tools to village". Simply bring tools to village. You get rep+gold and (e.g.) 2% prosperity. Like managing village button,but button 'give tools' appear when you finish quest and it request no gold to "build".

13. I don't know for rest of you guys,but I can't make feast.It would work this way:"You call lords to you're castle/town,there you gather and they tell you what would they want to conquer,who will be new marshal and whom to expel from realm if hes plotting against you."Call lords from other factions!If you in good terms with lord from other faction he can come to feast and you could talk to him to pressured to join you,like the button when you want to talk with him in private.

14. Maybe be able to build churches/mosques in town/castle. For now only prison tower and lookout tower are able. The church would heal you'r wounded faster or something.Right now Im disappointed because of only those improvements.

15. Civil war! I was thinking this:" If you are king of land,and have bad relation with 60%+ lords they would go mutiny.Country would be split ed into (e.g.) Kingdom of Boehemia and Rebel Kingdom of Boehemia. You can't declare war until  you done with civil war,but others can attack you're kingdom even if they bound to truce until number of days. The rebels would have possibility to join other kingdoms too.If rebels win (defeating all non-rebel lords and/or capturing you) you would be exiled from that land losing all.

16.Input fire arrows. They would be only visible during sieges don't have to add no extras or bonuses its just for 'cosmetics'.

17.Archery contest like pit fight. You shoot targets like in training grounds,goal is in every round other,to shoot fixed number of them.

18.Allies with same enemy would come to defend castle that's besieged.(I didn't think of how this would work thou).

19.Make computer not to attack over and over the same target. In my game Tolosa was captured and re-captured more that 50 times by me,tolose and france. its anoying.

20.I read about this but still just to refresh memories : >blacksmiths<  You order by blacksmith weapon or armor smith item after number days and lots of golds that will be masterwork weapon or helardric armor with fancy things ^^.

21.Town/castle improvement.Escape tunell. basically it enables you to escape after you're castle/town being captured,it would work something like in Custom settlements mod where you could actually run under castle.Here it would work like this: After you defeated a new window pops out which says:"You're castle is being overrun do you want to try to escape thou tunnel?" If yes you have to escape but you would be pursued and you have to
fight you're way out till the door.It should be no more than couple of corridors and about 5-6 enemy's in pursuit.

Well that's it. These are just few ideas. I can help if developer team wants too with this,just tell me what to download. I have tons of free
time since i work from home and dont have deadlines :smile:

The trade along the Silk Road wasn't done from one side all the way to the other by the same people (i.e. no Chinese caravans regularly arriving in Constantinople, if any at all), but by a number of intermediaries. In the older times, the main intermediary were f.e. the Persians, while soon after our mod the road would be reopened by the Mongols (more or less the only good thing they've done here).
Also, keep in mind that silk had been produced in Byzanthium since the 6th century or so and I think that by the mod's time silk production had been acquired by the Italians (and maybe even the Lowlands?) as well. Of course, I'd like it if we could limit those buildings to such specific conditions (including climate - making silk and wine in Russia seems kinda off to me), but that's another matter.

Otherwise, I like a number of your ideas, but I doubt most of them are viable for implementation in the foreseeable future.
 
Well I thought about putting some neutral caravans, like "Trade Caravan" who would have more party members in it to protect the valuables. They wouldent be conected to any faction so no war can be decleared. I was thinking the same thing about limiting the place where you could make silk becouse of climate, but I didn't think that players would want that since they the most expensive trade good. But would be nice to see since this mode is holding to real world. I was thinking to suggest to input more arab caravans wich would bring more expensive stuff and could be only buyed  in certian citys.
 
22. Can you make computer not to take conquered lord into my realm? My marshal captured castle of Rethel and Lord Rethel joined me becouse I didn't do the siege. Now I am thinking about to expel him and take all but don't want that either since I got good relation with him. Can that function be turned off somewhere so only I can chose it?
 
Ehrm, if you are talking about 'manpower', it can be turned off via camp menu. If you play with manpower turned off, no lord will automaticaly join your faction.
 
As to point 4. (Catholics attacking the papal states).

Just prior to this period Itally (against papal writ) was invaded by the Sicilio Normans. The pope actualy took to the field and did not do very well.

The Holy Roman Empire (Germany) also regularly invaded when the Pope or itallians got uppity (Itally theoretically bellonged to the HRE).

For much of the period the (supposedly) legitimate Papacy was hiding in france because a the Emperor (or those associated with him) kept coming up with their own popes. These pretenders are known as "Antipopes".

In our time period Innocent III was pope. He is believed to have been the most important and powerfull pope of the middle ages. The HRE was weakened by his clever tactics/intrigues and he managed to minimize the German influence in Italy. He was one of the figures to fire up a civil war within the HRE at that time between King Otto of Brunswick and King Philipp of Swabia and their supporters.
 
Indeed but we are also talking about a mod which regularly sees nations completely destroy rivals in a decade, when hundreds of years of bloody conflict didn't manage the same results in history.

Popes had and would be ignored on several occasions with few ramifications. Yes Innocent was a brilliant polititian, but he was not infallible. In an Alexander the Great mod you would not insist that he should be undefeatable untill he has invaded india would you?
I think (unless the game ever gates a MAJOR political/faith system added) it is best just to roleplay it.

Also, as an asside, when Phillip invaded England in 1216 he was technically attacking a Papal state. The Pope stayed out of it.
 
23. Make city of Fez (almohad) to have a great library. Since that was one of the great library of the time. People acros mediterian came there to learn. You could buy those books that you can buy from Book Dealer but better and more. We could write some nice names from histroy too :smile:
 
24. Input docks. It would work like this : Only in dock you could go on sea. Meaning, put textures all around the coast except docks and there would you be able to go to sea, right now you can go wherever you want and if you are chasing someone they just go on water and most of times escape. Maybe make docks be able to capture like castles/towns. If you control docks you could pass, but enemy lords not. The neutral factions would enter docks like village and pay to cross.
25.Maybe insert cinematics when you capture,lose,sack or become vassal. It would be awesome.

Hope I will come with more suggestions soon.
For moders if have any question for my 25 *current* suggestions how it would work just ask me I would be glad to answer that. Hope some of my ideas will be implemented
