Hi

I have searched the forums and have had no luck so I thought I would try post here.

I have been working on a scene for Napoleonic Wars, trying to create the Battle of Castle Hill (In Australia, convicts vs NSW Corps) but it is crashing consistently. The map has areas of heavy forest/bush (European plants for Aussie bushland!), but the area where the crashes keep occurring are all near one little lumberjacks hut that I create using numerous items to match the period and style. I really would like to keep this building I spent a lot of time on it. Does anyone have any solutions? Could it be a faulty item? Too many objects(I hope not!)? Thanks

I don't know how to go about adding screenshots to this, so copy and paste the address below, hopefully it works:

It's a RAM problem, try turning all your settings down to the lowest possible, and disable music and sound. If that doesn't work, you need a new computer.

Wow, you're quick Robin, this is a good start
Unfortunately I have tried turning the settings to low with no luck. I should also mention it still crashes when I trial the map (running around as a soldier), so I'm worried it would do the same to others if it was uploaded

I just tried lowing the graphics again with no sound and this happened xD

Then RAM may not be your problem, it may be something with your scene, I'm not sure. :???: RAM is just one possible cause.

Thanks for trying anyway Dark Robin.

Does Anyone else have any ideas? I really don't want to have built my interest up and then wasted all this time on a scene that wont work.

Any other ideas? Questions for me? I have not done any more on my scene for a while because there is not much point until the problem is solved. I'd really like to start working on it again and get it finish. Thanks

Ok an update for people in the future that may have the same problem. I have managed to stop my scene from crashing, unfortunately I did have to re-build. In the end I believe it was too many objects in the one spot that were causing the crashes. I deleted may hard fought for shingled roof (made up of many individual pieces), then got out of the game and went back in= no more crashes! Huzzah!

I ended up giving my hut a thatched roof (trying to stick with the historically correct) by using an open air stable sunk into the ground to remove the trough, and then I had to re-do all the walls. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=217754644

Any who in the end the lesson is if it starts crashing stop adding to your map until you have fixed the problem, I persisted with the shingles for a long time crash after crash for nothing.

But at least now my map is almost done
