.rtf files on iphone

I recently got an iphone 5s and it seems it has the same flaw as android phones, it cannot open .rtf files properly. I receive this type of file via email every day, it seems that files should be displayed in landscape mode but phone automatically opens it in portrait mode and that might be causing the problem.

Anyways, there are a couple of apps for android that solve this issue, I've already tried plenty of apps for iphone to no avail so I'd appreciate if anyone knew how to solve this.

Hammer to the front facing glass of the phone ought to fix your iphone problem.

As to the RTF problem you should just be able to download any of the office suite apps to view it.

I've already tried a couple of office suites but they won't open files properly. What kind of hammer should I use?

Edit: To be honest, I think I'll return the phone and get some android again.
