So I've gotten multiple medals on one of my char and started off as sergeant-major. But still I am at the rank of Sergeant-Major even though two cities have statues of me. Can someone tell me how I get promoted in military rank?

I don't actually know what the requirements are for the statues, but promotions happen due to high renown

Here's more information about renown required for each rank:

0. Soldier 0 - 100
1. Corporal 100 - 200
2. Sergeant 200 - 600

3. Sergeant-major 600 - 800
4. Lieutenant 800 - 1000
5. Captain 1000 - 1200
6. Major 1200 - 1400

7. Colonel 1400 - 1800
8. General 1800 - 2400

9. Marshall 2400 - (~)
