The RUSSIA thread

I doubt they specifically order or announce attacks online prior to them happening with the exception of rallies and demonstrations. Some of these groups meet and even train in person. Their online presence provides a successful platform for recruitment etc which I am guessing is what SOVA is targeting. Regulating hate speech against the backdrop of any freedom of speech laws (as convenient as they may be) is a problematic issue. In Russia the press doesn't have to be as politically correct as in my country for example (Australia) it just needs to tow party-line with the Kremlin. This lack of political correctness can be used in a negative manner especially sine much of the press has probably been cowed to provide favorable coverage of the country's leadership while providing negative coverage of the leadership's enemies.

As the old joke goes; an American brags to a Russian that he has freedom of speech in his country. The Russian turns around and says 'Big deal we've had freedom of speech for ages. We just don't have freedom after speech.'

Are you sure that's not the independence day riot from year ago?
Yes.

Meanwhile in Australia.
A CONVOY of heavily armed Russian war ships, including at least one high powered missile cruiser, are cruising international waters to Australia’s north.

Earlier this day Australian Foreign Affairs ministry requested an apologize from Russia for taking out MH17. Russia refused, but, well, you see its reaction.

They're quite far away from us and in international waters also our prime minister did quite hilariously threatened to physically assault Putin (a threat he never delivered on of course but the media is holding its breath for the g20) lol. Maybe Putin feels more comfortable knowing that there is a friendly ship nearby to which he can be airlifted in case of a bloody nose. ^_^

Putin's short and his skill is a bit inflated by his own media team.
He's a black belt...
You never know the Aussie PM might be a Secret Master Of Celestial Kung Fu.
Fitting with all the beasties those poor people have to live with...and the gays.

Seriously, who wouldn't want Putin punched in the gob by some wild man from that lost bastion of civilisation.
"You ****ing wha? Shioot dawn a plane will ya, wigh ai auta..!*"
xD

*Totally not a failing stereotypical transcription

OT:It would be amazing if some Aussie tried to base Kung Fu styles on native species. x3

Aussie Style would just involve getting infected with some horrible infectious disease and then running around biting people at random.

No wonder you keep biting people on the forum at random

The Russian embassy in Australia actually released a tongue in cheek statement that our PM's threat/statements where immature and that they would like to remind the PM that Putin has a black belt in <Insert fight style>.

And the Australian is anything but posh. -.-
Not that its of any actual importance but IIRC Putin was Moscow's Sambo champion way way back and what with the whole KBG thing I think its fairly likely that Rebel was not wrong on this occasion.
