Mod is basically dead, I am working on a new idea right now. If backstay wants to continue the development, I can PM him the source code. (So PM me if you want it, backstay)

About Calradian Dynasties

This is two mods, Age of Magic, and Dynasties, combined. Both were mods aimed at keeping the same world, Calradia, but adding several new, exciting features to it. So the developers of those two mods, me, for Age of Magic, and Backstay for Dynasties, have decided to merge our mods into one amazing mod, with all the features of both mods.​


Backstory

It is the year 1257, and Calradia is at war. The old empire's glory has been shattered, and now wars and turmoil are upon us. Seven kingdoms are constantly at war for glory, power and wealth. In the middle of the continent stands the kingdom of Swadia, Once strong and invincible, Now they are nothing but a shadow of their former selves. They still have the strongest knights that instill fear in their enemies, but other kingdoms have learned to counter this, and it is no longer the asset it once was. The Kingdom of Nords resides in the north; they are battle hardened warriors, and have infantry whom cant be rivaled. Their values of honor and power are the strongest. In the north-eastern tundra, The Kingdom of Vaegirs and their fearsome marksman live; their archers could aim from very far away, and still crack the skull of their enemies. In the highlands, the Kingdom of Rhodoks and their great spearmen live. Their sergeants were specially trained to counter the Swadian Knights during their rebellion against Swadia. Their spearmen are the nightmare of all horsemen in Caladria. In the east, the Khergit Khanate resides. their swiftness and deadly horse archers sore through the great continent of Calradia, and they can move at great speed on campaigns. In the  southern deserts, the Sarranid Sultanate wait in silence for an opportunity to take control of Calradia. Their mamlukes may be the only rivals to the Swadian knights in the whole continent. To the south of the kingdom Rhodoks, the Varinian Ellisari dabbles in the secret arts of magic. the only faction who acceptes magic with open hearts. Many young mages flock to their gates everyday. In Calradia, a new phenomenon appears: the bandits start to work together under one great leader. And now, the infamous bandit king Shavaro, now calling himself Great Master Shavaro, managed to overpower The Kingdom of Swadia and took Tevarin Castle, creating more chaos in an already chaotic realm.

The fate of Calradia is in your hands, the only question for you is what to do with it...​

Hmmm, this looks very nice... Both Age of Magic and Dynasties didn't look like they had enough features to be worth downloading, so I think this definitely helps both, and it seems to be much closer now to being both good, and worth my time. :grin:

Good to know you'll play it! :smile:

If you were just looking forward to Dynasties, and not Age of Magic, then you should know that none of the features of either mod conflict with one another, so you will get Dynasties, plus more features! :smile:

He is. :smile: I don't think he has played it yet, he's just been sending me the new map.txt each time we need a change to the map. So, yes, he is the mapper. :smile:

But no, unfortunately I've been too busy with my own mod to even think about playing another :smile:, also I understand magic is not yet in full glory, so this is something I look forward to seeing.

Notice the nice new feature where you can travel by sea? That was him.

The nice feature where the map icon won't turn into a ship, that was me. :wink:

I asked how to do it in the Q&A thread, and GoldEagle gave me the code, but it doesn't work (it gives errors when building the module) and I'm too lazy to fix it. I definitely will do that when I have time, but for now, since the mod is playable without that fix, I'm going to be working on some new quests, and the storyline. :smile:

The main features/changes of the first release will be the combination of Dynasties and Age of Magic, a scene for Vasu, more quests and story, and a 3d model for the magic, along with what Backstay does with Dynasties. (probably something with the killable lords, but I'm not completely sure what he will do)
 
Not the major factions. It may be something for us to think about, considering that I added two factions with only one lord.

The chance of lords dying in battle will hopefully be lowered from what backstay originally planned though, for that reason, along with the fact that we don't want all the lords to die.
 
Yeah, it would unbalance the faction which of a lord was killed. This is why I want the rate of lords being killed to be as low as possible, but without making it that low that it might only happen twice or three times during the player's campaign. But the thing is that most players have a good army and get to take over their first castle and fight their first lords after 100 days into the game - unless you're a pro, of course. So the first lord would be killed after 100-200 days into the game.

And the game is unbalanced no matter what. When the player chooses a side in the war, the game gets unbalanced automatically because the player is stronger than all the other lords in general.

All of them.

If you do two or three of them, this mod will be awasome.
