Oh come on in every apocalypse setting there needs to be Gas masks however i agree that sounds like pointless mechanics that while cool in thought, like you said force everyone to wear gasmasks when they either have a better option or different taste. I don't think we should force a player to remove their (possibly signature or rare) headgear just for a gameplay mechanic which is unnecessary. I'm fairly sure Grandmaster wouldn't even want to bother coding this, it seems a bit too much for a post-virus apocalypse without any radiation or chemicals dotted around.
But i am curious about something that has not been touched on is how recruitment is going to work once we have our own "kingdoms". Will it just be whatever lands i have will just spawn that type of recruit like vanilla, or will it be like star wars conquest where i can just set a faction culture so if i wanted Aryan Brotherhood recruits i could make all my towns spawn Aryan Brotherhood survivors? OR will it be like the Peloponesian war mod where you have some kind of advisor and he can recruit up to a certain number of men from you from whatever faction you want.
If you have not thought about it much or have a completely different system i would be interested to hear because it is a minor mechanic but it does change gameplay style a bit
