GK_Siege has been in operation since early 2010, growing from a basic 60 slot server with a handful of maps, to 90 slots -- adding over 100 custom maps, starting weekly events, and introducing the first custom siege add-ons to Warband in the process. Server ownership and administrative policy have shifted over the years, but throughout GK has been dedicated to providing a stable platform for Mount&Blade NA multiplayer. US_GK_Siege runs entirely on donations. All of our moderators, scripters, web admins, mappers, and contributors donate their time and energy to the server only for everyone's free enjoyment of it; if you choose to donate, all of the proceeds will go directly towards the maintenance of the server. Donations of any size will be appreciated, and can be made via paypal by the links at the top and bottom of the thread. You don't need a paypal account to donate, but if you have one you can avoid paypal fees and donate directly by making a gift to [email protected].



Server Rules:
1. No intentional Tking or team wounding allowed at all. Someone wounding all of their teammates at spawn is liable to receive a permanent ban.
2. No griefing. Do not close the gate if you are on attackers, do not open it if you are on defenders. Do not kick people off walls. Punished by a temporary ban or kick.
3. No recruiting without explicit permission from a GK Lord.
4. Do not spam chat. People can mute you individually, but if you're causing problems for everyone you will be kicked.
5. Be respectful. If you feel the need to verbally assault anyone, refrain from doing so.

1.>  Personal Law(a)  Intentionally hitting a team mate with either a melee weapon or ranged weapon.  This also includes kicking and punching team mates.

(b) If you are the victim of a team killer or team wounder,  you are not to retaliate. This leads to further escalations and ultimately a degradation of team morale. You may block manually or with a shield.  If an admin is present he will deal with the offender and heal you if you request it and/or the admin desires.  Retaliation will place you as an offender of category a,  and you may be subject to administrative action.

Punishment range:  Warning to Perma Ban.

2.>  Vocal Law : (a) Bigotry based on age, sex, religion, ethnic group or sexual orientation is forbidden. 

(b) Clan/Group recruitment is forbidden on GK siege with the exception of permission granted by a GK Lord (note, this means Lords, not admins).

(c) Spam of any kind if not allowed.  This includes spamming letters, phrases or anything else repeatedly including polls.  Spam may also include using our server as a chat room.  GK_Siege is about playing siege,  not talking about politics or religion.  Admins have discretion on putting a stop to a particular conversation.  If you want to have those conversations,  join our Team Speak channel.

Punishment range: Warning to Perma Ban.

3.>  Siege Law : (a) Defenders are not to open the gatehouse door or sally doors at any time, except within the first 30 seconds of a game round.  The gate must be closed BEFORE the 30 seconds are up.  At any time past that,  with the one exception that a coordinated effort is made in team chat between two people and the defending team is informed, should no defender open a gate or sally door. Repeat violations may result in administrative action.

Punishment range: Kick to Temp Ban (repeat abuse, Perma Ban).

(b)  If section a is violated by a defending team mate, that team mate should be considered the enemy until the area is secure.  He must also exit the area or suffer administrative action. 

(c)  Squatting.  If you sit on a team and go afk,  thus taking up a slot on that team you may be subject to either a move to spectator or a kick from the server.  Afk is defined as having not moved and participated in the siege for more than 1 minute.  If you inform an admin you are going afk,  he may grant you some more time at his discretion.  You are also subject to being kicked from spectator mode if you squat in spectator for more than 5 minutes. 

Punishment range: Move to Spec to Kick

(d)  Vandalism.  Defending team mates are under no circumstances to use melee weapons to strike an opponent through a sally door.  Archers may attempt to shoot an opponents body part if he is glitching through the door as arrows cause very minimal damage to a door.  Special allowance is made for piercing weapons like spears, pikes etc when attempting to stab an opponent through the openings of the viking style sally door, so long as the persons aim is true, striking through the holes in the door and does not hit the door excessively.

Punishment range: Move to Spectator to Temp Ban (extreme abuse, Perma)


4.> Three Strike Rule : If an ID comes up in our ban database 3x it will be left in the permaban section, never to be lifted except by chief admin discretion. Put simply, do not get banned or you will eventually get permabanned.

Admins: Admins are typically chosen from within GK, and are expected to take their responsibilities seriously. That being said, it is often difficult to manage a server of our size, so please be cooperative with our admins if they are not able to help you immediately. If you would like to submit a retroactive ban request, PM any chief admin with as much relevant information as possible. Try to include screenshots and note the time of day. It is very difficult for us to corroborate your ban requests with server logs after 4 days, however. We do take ban requests seriously and will try our best to fulfill them when considered appropriate.

If you feel an admin treated you unfairly, please tell us. If you would like to get in contact with any of our chief admins to report ban-worthy activity or admin abuse, PM any of the people listed below:

In cases of reporting admin abuse, it helps to reference a specific breach of our policies:
Admins are expected to take their responsibilities very seriously. Violating of any of the following policies may result in immediate removal of admin.

1. Use server chat for administrative purposes only. Keep your messages brief and direct. Remember that you are directly representing the server. Do not use anonymous server chat unnecessarily.

2. Never use admin tools in or near combat, or for any purpose other than necessary admin actions.

3. Never use admin tools to react to personally directed comments, unless you would if it were said to anyone else. Always warn players before kicking them for a chat-related offense.

4. Never change server settings without explicit permission from a chief admin.

5. Never change a map without explicit permission from a chief admin, unless "game-breaking" bugs exist and are being exploited.



News and Updates:


--1/23/13: Getting started with testing and feedback on a new addition to the GK bundle. The "GK Bundle Overhaul" will consist of OSP models, textures, and sounds that will replace, add to, and enhance the normal Native gameplay. It will be entirely compatible with native, and none of the native weapon/shield models have been altered for the sake of keeping as close as possible to the native game-play. We're looking for talented modders, testers, voice actors, artists, critics, and videos, screenshots, etc. to help complete the first version. --12/22/12: Switched back to the old box for now based on feedback about ping issues.

--12/19/12: Going to be experimenting with a possible alternative server host over the course of the next day or so. Feedback will be very useful in figuring out if the server is running OK for people with different connections. The server will for now be called "US_GK_Siege_Testing".

--12/17/12: We were able to meet our fundraising goal a little ahead of schedule, so GK_Siege will be around for a while to come thanks to many generous donations!

--12/14/12: Added a couple entertaining videos/channels of Siege to the OP. If anyone has any they'd like to share send me PM or post them here. Also, we are working with Dwarf (creator of neonative) to add siege equipment. We're running into a few obstacles... the good news is, ballistas and other features will likely be added very soon. The bad news is more complicated features like catapults may take more time to figure out.



--12/8/12: Finally making this thread after months of waiting for various new add-ons to be finished, so we could announce them with it... but we're posting now anyway because we're going to start needing donations soon. That doesn't mean these add-ons are abandoned! Recently, we've begun working with the creator of the Neonative mod, who is helping us implement cool features (like balistas) step-by-step into the GK bundle code. We're also well into developing some simple texture/graphics overhauls that use OSP content to make warband MP look better... more updates will follow.

--12/12/12: Uploaded a new GK bundle (same link as before). This will likely be the final bundle update before adding ballistas. There are new armors, shields, and weapons for a bunch of different classes, and your in-game map list should be up-to-date now for displaying map names and polling custom maps.

Planned to be released on GK_Siege next week:

Ballistas.  That's right,  working with Dwarf3 of the Neonative/GK mod,  the GK server will soon be featuring fully functioning and reloadable ballistas.  Ballistas will be able to shoot fast moving bolts that can penetrate certain objects,  and impale multiple people if they are all in the path of the bolt.  In future updates,  Ballistas will also be able to sink ships you can steer and also smash and destroy upcoming Catapult add ons.

is there plan to have destructable walls eventuallty like NW, that whould be best!

Hey buddy,  yes we are for real.  And yes,  we will include destructible walls similar to NW.  Ballista have very weak damage vs walls,  moderate damage vs doors,  and extreme damage vs infantry and other siege engines (such as enemy ballistas and catapults).  And yes,  I said catapults... which will be coming soon after ballistas are released...  :cool:  Stay tuned!

If even a small percentage of the server traffic donated $1 we'd be all set for months, so take initiative! If you're enjoying our server, consider donating a little towards helping us be around in the future :smile:
 
You can be sure as soon as Bannerlord is released,  we will be hosting the largest possible server for it,  siege mode,  and I will be making custom maps and content from day 1!!!!!!!

Woolen Hose

1 change as well to an existing weapon:

Nord Infantry as well as Nord cav will now have access to the fighting axe, and the axe itself will get a slight boost in damage and speed and be made into a bastard sword like weapon which can be used 1 handed with shield,  or 2 handed for extra speed/damage. 

Stats will be:

92 reach
96 speed
35c damage


This update will be released sometime next week when we release the ballistas,  as part of an updated GK bundle.  Stay tuned!

Affirmative.  Soon to be followed by working Catapults,  as well as Ships you can steer and control among tons of other upcoming changes.




After some discussion,  it was decided to move the blue hose to rhodok xbow,  and extend the woolen hose to Swadia infantry.  Some screencaps below:

We're limited to what's already in-game, and we've already used most of it  :sad:

Right now we're looking through what's left to incorporate. I can't say anything definitive yet, but we definitely will be adding in some other items as well (in addition to possibly moving others around or adding them to certain factions).

Edit:  Spelling correction on one item in the screenshots.  It's no longer "Highlander" targe but rather Highland targe now.

More upcoming changes,  Rhodoks will now have access to "Targe" shields.  This will give the rhodoks a versatility they deserve.  Now you can opt for a faster,  albeit less stout shield that will match your fighting style.

The Rhodok Infantry armory is now quite impressive.
