49th Hertfordshire Regiment [New]

Introduction
The 49th are a new regiment created by new players, for new players. Our aim is to create a fun and mature roleplay environment which anyone willing to learn can be a part of. Historical accuracy is something we strive to achieve, and we have a number of members who are very knowledgeable  regarding the Napoleonic time period to assist us. We support a large gaming community called Hypergaming Network and have a organised forum to communicate with. (Links can be found in our Steam Group Page). We also have a teamspeak server and M&B server, which run 24/7. We are looking for anyone, experienced or not, to join our regiment or play with us. Our server has recently become rather popular, with a 20v20 playerbase most weekends, and this has encouraged us to advertise here. The 49th is a British line infantry regiment, but as we become more experienced we are looking to change to either Rifles or Dragoons.

Regiment Background
The 63th Marines were created on the 25th December in 1743 from 8 independent British companies stationed in Jamaica together. Governor Edward Trelawney was promoted to Colonel of the Regiment, and soon after the Regiment was renumbered to the 49th. Upon arriving home from the campaign in Jamaica, the regiment was assigned to the county Hertfordshire, thus forming the 49th Hertfordshire of Foot. In the colonial period they served in the First Opium War (1839–42) and Crimean War (1853–56). The Regiment had also fought in conflicts in France, China, and Jamaica before being reformed as Royal Marines

Thanks alot Franz! Yeah, we're really a regiment consisting of the scum of british society at this point in time. Criminals and unemployed. - and in reality we're new, - but learning fast! Sadly we're not growing as fast as i'd like, though.

The 49th Hertfordshire Regiment is hereby disbanded. Garrisoned weaponry has been sent to that single French fort that was to the south east of our position, as a token of good will. Unfortunaly however, I have just received word that they surrendered upon sight of our wagon, and are already on their way back to froggy France. We win.
