2. FEATURES:
- A very large map
of Europe and North Africa, with a huge amount of historical settlements and lords.
- Warparties
Since the number of lords has increased (becauze of the size of the map), it has been often difficult to find a desired amount of historical lords for some factions. For example, Almohad Caliphate has only 19 lords, which does not show their true strength from the period, and also doesn't fit with their immense size. That's why we added Warparties. Warparties are basically just armies without any lord as leader, but they do still follow the real lords on campaigns, besiege castles, and fight enemies just as any real lord would do. A warparty is lead by a leader called ''Captain''. Captains can't give quests, can't hire you as a mercenary, and can't own fiefs. They only serve to increase the military might of a faction.
- Ambushes
In Europe 1200, we also want to represent the tactics that certain cultures used in warfare. Therefore, we have included ambushes. Factions that have ambush ability are: Irish Kingdoms, Kingdom of Connacht, Kingdom of Mann, Kingdom of the Isles, and Banate of Bosnia. If you attack one of their armies, there is a certain chance that you'll run into an ambush. Also, if you are a vassal of one of these factions, you will sometimes have the oppurtunity to ambush your enemies yourself.
- New Recruitment System
The whole way of recruitment is reworked, since, in Warband, a serf can rise to be a knight by fighting some battles, which is not realistic. The new way of recruitment looks somewhat like this:
You can recruit from all settlements (villages, towns and castles) and each type of settlements has a different troop tree, that variates between different factons. The troop trees from different settlements represent the feudal system much better.
The troop trees are:
- Noble troops, hired from castles.
- Sergeant (Professional) troops, hired from castles.
- Militia troops, hired from towns (factions that don't have a militia tree, will recruit Rural troops from towns, instead)
- Rural troops, hired from villages
- AI Calculation
Since Europe 1200 is one of the most demanding mods ever for Warband, we had to come up with some system that would make weak PC able to run the mod as well. We introduced a limited way to custom your own AI (which is the most perfomance-costing thing), and now, you can basically choose between 4 levels in the camp menu (game settings sub-menu): Very light, light, balanced, and heavy. How much the AI calculates depends on your choice, but you shouldn't actually notice a big diffrence between even heavy and very light in terms of gameplay, although there can be a big diffrence in terms of perfomance.
- Manpower
To help the players who are playing with smaller/weaker factions, we created the Manpower option.
More details on Manpower can be found on this page.
- Military Orders
More info on the Orders can be found on this page.

- Noble tournaments
We wanted to make a complete reboot of tournaments to make them represent as how they actually worked in the year 1200. Tournaments in Warband have nobles fighting alongside commoners, which was not the case in the middle-ages. So, we divided the tournaments and now we have:
- Pitfights, in which you can compete only if you are not a vassal to a faction
- Noble tournaments, for which you have to become a vassal to a faction
In order to compete in the Noble tournaments, the player must first join a team. If the player wants to join a team, he needs to fulfill the basic requirements - being a vassal and having a certain amount of renown (the amount of renown required varies from team to team, more on that later). Teams consist of 8 members, all of who are nobles. Team members are found in Castle halls, and the player must speak to them, in order to join the team. Teams only compete in their respective Tournament Circuit, which means that you will not see an Italian team competing in France. To add to the realism, not all of E1200 factions will have Noble tournaments, but all will have Pitfights.
Here is list of Circuits, and therefore, the list of factions that will have Noble tournaments:
1. Iberian circuit (Castille, Leon, Portugal, Navarre, Aragon)
2. French circuit (England, France, Toulouse)
3. Scandinavian (Norway, Denmark, Sweden)
4. Italian circuit (Venice, Lombards, Tuscans, Papal States, Sicily, Genoa, Pisa)
5. German circuit (Holy Roman Empire, Flanders, Holland, Frisia, Brabant, Bohemia)

- Custom made settlements
To further distance us from Native, and to make our mod richer and more unique, we have made a number of custom settlemets.
Settlements with the name (f.e. Bremen) are unique, and apply only to a single settlement. The ''placeholders'' are scenes that are used for more than one settlement, and are usually related to the map's region.
Towns: Bremen, Nüremberg
Castles: Würzburg, Hohenzollern, Adriatic placeholder, Iberian placeholder, Central European placeholder, Northwestern coastal European placeholder, Danish placeholder
Villages: Northwestern European and North African placeholders, Coastal Mercenary camp
- Knights and Bannerets with own coat of arms:
Each knight and banneret (the regular troops) will have their own coat of arms to represent historical accuracy.
No knight had the coat of arms of his lord, so now, you'll see even your own knights running around with many different colors.
- Quests
A lot of new quests, including the really epic ones, like creating an Order of Saint George, for example.
More info on quests can be found on this page.

- Different cultures
For example, if you start a game with Bulgaria, you would probably expect to find only Bulgarian troops to recruit. But, historically, in that country, there were also a lot of Vlachs and Cumans, who had important role in everyday life of Bulgaria. That's why, there are also villages in Bulgaria which do not spawn Bulgarians, but Vlachs and Cumans, depending on the village. Other factions have different cultures too - for example, in Holy Roman Empire, you can recruit Rhenish, Franconian, Bavarian, Saxon and Swabian troops, depending of the region where the village is.
The mod also includes:
- Custom made equipment (armours, helmets, weapons...)
- Custom made town/castle icons
- Custom made player banners
- Custom drawn images
- Naval battles
- New horses
- Expanded Mercenary troop tree
- Many more things
