Well, like you just said, WW2 in China and Civil War in Russia are 2 mods where you can find guns. There are lot of modules which allow you to play with firearms but, as far as I know, no mod allows you to play with MODERN weaponry. Obviously, I am just a beginner around here, and can be proven wrong by any expert.

Hello , you can try the mod Gangs of Glasgow , there are shotguns , machine guns , and also pistols
