47th Lancaster regiment of foot

47th (Lancashire) Regiment of Foot -The Wolfe's Own
2nd Battalion

In 1808 the 47th Regiment deployed to Gibraltar and in 1811 commenced its participation in the Peninsular War, a war which saw the UK, Portugal and Spain fighting the French. The regiment's flank companies took part in the Battle of Barossa and in December took part in the Battle of Tarifa, where they helped repulse a French assault.

By 1812, the British were forced to withdraw back into Portugal. Though the following year, British forces moved back into Spain, with the objective to remove the French from the peninsula. The 2nd Battalion then took part in the Battle of Vittoria and the Siege of St. Sebastian, where they took heavy casualties while attempting to breach the walls.

Later on, 2nd Battalion crossed the Bidasoa River, finally marching into France itself. The battalion took part in the Battle of Nive and by 1814, was tasked to support the Siege of Bayonne, concluding with their participation in the Peninsular War. After the war, the 2nd battalion was sent to England, and finally disbanded in Portsmouth the same year.

After a week of trial and error, plus a patch that basically broke Mount and Blade Warband: Napoleonic Wars, I finally managed to get the 47th Regiment's skins done. The whole pack includes the King's and Regimental Colours, remade Ranker, Ensign, Officer and Drums, new shako and a small tweak in the code. All bugs were fixed, including the naked man problem...

RECOMMENDED you install openBRF to get full detail out of the skin or model will look like next picture instead of last.
1. open openBRF then file open mm_french_uniforms.brf in mountblade warband\Modules\Napoleonic Wars\Resource.
2. Scroll Down to Voltiguer section should be at the bottom and select french_voltigeur_body_ranker and click on material like in picture
earlyvoltiguerintall.jpg

Change fr_voltigeur_n and fr_voltigeur_s to fr_dragoon_n and fr_dragoon_s

earlyvoltiguerintall2.jpg

earlyvoltiguerintall3.jpg

If you want to install the skin without removing any other currently installed custom models in the mm_french_uniform and mm_french shakos you will need to manually export the voltiguer body, pants, and shako from the download and then import them into your current mm_french_uniform and mm_french shakos brf files.

Right-Click and "View Image" if part of it is cut-off.

Guard loops on the collar and cuffs, orange numberless shoulder straps, orange lacing for the hornist (based on an illustration of 1809 uniforms, so it may be erroneous, then again I can find illustrations of regular line infantry musicians with orange instead of NW's white, so whatever), star of St. Andrew on the cartridge box, and of course the eagle plate on the shako. Unfortunately the Jäger officer shares a shako with the Simbirskiy ranker, so adding the eagle plate to his hat would also make the regular line infantry look wonky and he'd still have the wrong pompon on top.... changing what he spawns with in troops.txt to, say, give him the Preobrazhensky officer's shako only makes you spawn with a big bald spot on your head if you try to join a server without the modifications... so I'm stuck.

I decided to make a "LITE" package here which excludes new textures I had to add to mmmaterials.brf (a file shared by ALL factions) to fix ugly specularity problems built into the base content - this version is basically compatible with any other skin as long as it's not a Russian Jaeger skin of course.

7y Jaeger Mod LITE

There's also the standard version here, which not only alters mmmaterials.brf but also troops.txt (unless you choose not to extract those files, of course). If you want to use this mod and my artillery mod, be sure to install the Artillery mod FIRST and the Jaeger mod SECOND.

7y Jaeger Mod 1.1

If you have any problems or questions, please don't be shy.

Russian Guard Artillery:

Artillery of the Guard, replaces Russia's 8th battery.

It gives the Russian artillery crewmen the eagle plate and collar/cuff loops of the guard... and also white pants as these were more common. The 8-B on the shoulder boards is also removed. Seeing as I'm in the Artillery section of the LGP (formerly 7y), which is a Leib-Gvardiya regiment, I figured we needed something with a little more class

Nice uniforms Hinkel, I would like to know how you changed the plume on the 84e grenadier.
if I fix that then the 6e Young guard skin is also done .

Making them dirty is in most cases barely accurate. Soldiers were very fond of looking as good as possible, and if they weren't, their commanders told them to.

Their uniform needed to be splendid all the time and no one wanted dirt on it. Ofcourse, from time to time, it could have some dirt because of the environment, but it was cleaned as soon as the time for it was there.

Those are some really good uniforms! I have been thinking of this too, but first of all I really need to know where to start  Any tips? (I have never tried out uniform editing before)

Photoshop with dds plugin is the way to go

Get:
  • a DDS converter (I use DXTBmp);
  • GIMP
  • openBRF

Then just manually edit the textures in GIMP. There are loads of tutorials if you search here

Edit: if you need help getting started PM me. I'm certainly not very good at it but I know how it's done

How do you make them look dirty without them looking like the soldiers didn't just draw brown on their uniforms?

Awesome uniforms guys ! I really want to learn how to do that but unfortunately I will have to wait to summer holidays before get started

Perhaps he uses a brush, and put the hardness on low, that way you can add a dirt look without doing much damage to the uniform.

or he uses a filter.
