So I think it's time for a bit of an update.
This linebattle has a system of rules and standards that all participants should have read before ever asking to be a part of it. After tonight's performance I have strong doubts about how many have actually read this thread, let alone have agreed to it. So now this will change.
If you wish to participate in this line battle, you will send me a PM on this site. This PM will contain your regiment, its leader (should be you), and a statement that says both you and all of your men have read the rules listed by 5arge, and that you agree to abide by them unconditionally, at risk of immediate removal form the event and all future events.
Some participants were also confused as to why the lazy old event planner was not assigning roles. Last year as I ran and maintained this event I set a standard for assigning roles. Roles would be only given to those who asked for them, via the proper channel of Private Messaging. This cut down the time it took to organize the line battle, resulting in less waiting, and more playing. We allowed ourselves to grow lax in this. We have gotten to the point where only 2 positions (out of a possible 12!) are filled before the event. This is unacceptable. From this time forward I will no longer give roles out unless a request is sent via PM on this site, with the same format shown in the original post. If there are not enough players to fill these roles (which there are), then we will not play with any roles. It takes two minutes of your time to PM me, and saves myself and the other coordinators both time and stress when creating the teams.
As 5arge stated, we are aiming to return to a single, full server. Consider at this point the slate cleaned for all, but also consider it a final warning. Get those PM's to me, and if you want a role for next week send it as well. There will no longer be compromises with the rules, and I will hold each participant to that.
EDIT: Also, I will henceforth be muting public chat in game, its incredibly distracting when trying to do what needs to be done to balance teams and provide a good experience. If you require my attention either approach me in teamspeak or via Steam.
For next week the leaders will be reconvening on the Prussian Army teamspeak, which is located at
74.91.116.171 .
Thank you.
