Tercio Event Announcement

WHAT IS TERCIO?:
The "Tercio" is an historic formation used in some European counties, mainly in West Europe, between 1550 and 1700. It consisted of a compact formation made up of pike-men and musketeers and arquebusiers which fought as a cohesive unit. An intersting pecularity of the tercio was the flexibility and the quantity of variations applicable to the basic formation.

- Events of the Tercio: The event of the tercio is a monthly event which involves putting into work the tercio's tactics with the Swedish faction in the Deluge mod. The other faction will be organized by the Saturday Organized Warfare staff, and they will have to try different tactics against the tercio and to win as many times as they can, but they'll have to develop teamwork and historical tactics rather than just winning at every cost. We hope that the other faction will let us win at least one round!

- to participate in the tercio (Sweden), you must ask Trazer (steam ID http://steamcommunity.com/id/trazer/ ) and come along  to the trainings. You can singn to the other faction like usually its done on Saturday Organized Warfare. Post below below in order to sign up for the event.

We make the tercio tactics on our trainings: On Saturdays at 16:30 GMT and at 18:00 GMT

WHY?:
We want to test the historical tactics of the Tercios in the Deluge mod. This is an idea which has never been done before and is unique to us., We hope you enjoy it!
The tercio's formation are a great opportunity for teamwork.
It's also a historical representation. We don't care about wining (but we'll try to do our best), we think that the most important thing is the teamwork, we want to be disciplined, and we'll adjust our tactics to The Deluge mod.

Sorry for a bit of a late post, but easter....

Anyways, that is the promised event for next Saturday. Every, regiment willing to join Commonwealth is to post the application here, in this topic. We have not specified certain troops yet, and probably you will be switching class quite often during the event in order to make the event enjoyable for both sides.

SMH may be a line on its own for commonwealth if it can get enough on for the event.

So.. How was it? I heard that it was rather weak...

It was weak vs cavalry pistol charges and repeated gunfire. We never really charged them.

We enjoyed it but we were few ppl compared to the previous saturdays. So the next tercio event will be better organized, better explained... and at different time than the normal saturday event, probably.

very good event, im in that screen, the first arquebusier with black hat, jejeje. Few people in the event but was good, the only thin is that the enemy have dragons, and have very much musketer, but well the other thins was ok.

I hope we can be in the next event, waiting for the cavalry charges, good work and see you in the next battle.

Chapó Sir It was very good, especially by the battle in open field. The only downside was the high amount of enemies musketeers and mounted dragons, it needs more melee infantry 

But It was great, I want see more events like this.

You (main formation, the musketeers moved around a bit) either seemed to be standing still, charging, or forming up, never forward marching or anything.

Yes, we moved forward to a hill a cupple of times.

Yes of course we move ourselves but always in the formation ordered.
