Turkish and russian krug is looking cool. And they are lighter than others, arent they?

Now that is a good question, so I went and looked it up.

According to Claude Blair's "European Armour, circa 1066 to circa 1700", the mid-15th century Milanese full plate armour in the Glasgow Museums weighs 57 lbs (26 kg) and a mid-16th century full plate harness weighs about 45 lbs (20.4 kg).

One of the Russian zertsalos in the Moscow armoury dated 1616 AD weighs 11 kg, but that is just the krug. It would normally have been worn over a mail shirt, with a helmet, mail-and-plate vambraces, cuisses and greaves.

A mail shirt weighs about 9 to 15 kg, a chichak style helmet weighs about 3.3 kg and vambraces about 2 kg. Unfortunately i couldn't find any references for the weight of mail-and-plate cuisses or greaves.

Anyway I have a feeling both types of armour, Western European full plate and the Eastern krug, would have roughly been about the same weight, but the krug was probably more flexible.

The game needs some armor like this.

Specially the first and the last 5 armours in the last 3 pics.

None. It'd be nice if they'd include plate armor models, so it would be easy to mod them in, but full suits of plate armor weren't around in the 13th century, afaik.

In the Native there is already a plate armour... anyway, it's a breeze to set the age to the 16th century.

I would like to see some more armors of East Europe and Minor Asia (Lamellar, Scale,...). I think this stuff has way more style than the boring plates of West Europe.

Like this armor of a Byzantine Cataphract.

Or this Varanging Guard.

Another awesome cataphract armor.

The first picture is of a Lombard Cataphract.

I'd LOVE to see some Byzantine armours, they're looking way better than boring plate armours.
I'm going to play Medieval II with mods, see ya
