Looking to hunt for new hardware in WA, AUS, News of new hardware welcomed

Afaik gtx 670s won't be out for another six months or so. Nvidia is doing some keynote soon though that might say otherwise.

I think it's GTX 670ti that's scheduled for a Q3 release. GTX 670 should be out sometime May to June.

Also I've scanned through some site including wikipedia, and they are seem to be pinning for a May 10 release.

Edit : They finally priced the GTX 690 (released 03/05/12) and is stocking it in 3 days. If the trend holds true for the 670, I'll only see it in the shop's list a week after release, 7 days from now and another 3 days after that for it to be in stock.

Edit 2: 2 variants got listed for GTX 670 SC, here and here. Aren't they supposed to replace the price bracket of the previous generation? This price is currently outrageous. It's nearly enough to go for a GTX 680.

Edit 3 : Decided on this one.

Made the overhaul with the Asus 670. But accidentally formatted one entire drive containing my games. Will take a while for me to recover them, but no loss. Exam's in less than 12 hours.

New rig died after 10 hours of use. Posting from google translate to bypass the school's system.

It's in the shop since I don't have a spare 1155 mobo around to test individual parts against. My HDD is still wiped.

Also from the wiki page. There's i5 variants in both 2 cores and 4 cores. But currently it's all 4 cores for ivy.

Not sure if serious.....

Only a few i5's are dual core, and those are just the low end ones. The new generation ones don't even have any dual core i5's.

Should I just invest in a cheap ass 1155 motherboard just so that the next time something like this happens, I'll just test for faulty hardware myself. The shops charging me 39/half hour with their technician.

Thing is, my last rig was a 1156. Can't test to see whether it was the CPU or the mobo that broke on me. Googled my pc's interior behavior and about 10 possible thing came up on the PSU alone (not even out of the picture for faulty PSU yet based on the way it went no boot on me. Though the gfx card still gets powered, so the chance of a broken psu is very slim).

Also you get charged reinventory fee for returning and exchanging perfectly good parts. For now I'm adamant that it's the motherboard, but there's also a slim chance of a fried CPU. So slim that I'm not even going to consider it, but my luck these few days have been astonishingly bad. So I'm not even surprised at this point.

Also maybe it's time to get a new case. I had to brute force the new PSU into place by bending a few metal shoulder and the case is a 4 screw one. Mobo is 6 screwholes. I'm worried that the lack of two screws and the CPU being at the top 2 screw position would be causing my mobo physical damage (which voids warranty if they manage to lay that on me).

Seems they've released two Core i5 brands. Bottomline, there are both dual core i5s and quad core.

Seems I won here, I'll take my leave of this thread.
