Chapter 1, March 22nd 1257

Dear Journal, Ive finally arrived in Tulga today. My self-proclaimed "Mission" was to help some caravan merchants unload and then report to the Khan to join his army. After unloading a caravan from a nice merchant named Marnid, I headed off to see the Khan. During the trip there, I noticed that the streets seemed....dead. Then I heard smething that made the hair on the back of my neck stand up-the sound of a blade, raising from its scabbard! Because I wasnt prepared for this, I almost lost. After all, why would the son of a Khergit Pea Farmer turned Goods Peddler fight? After about 5 minutes, which i suspected were the worst five of my life, I won. I kncked out the theif with a quick hit by my wooden staff. Then a Merchant came to my aid. He took me in willingly, and explained to me that bandits were becoming more and more common in the lands sorrounding Tulga. After staying there for the night,  the next morning I went to the Khan. "Who are you?" he said. I replied, "Another peasant willing to be turned your loyal soldier." "Good" said Sanjar, "What is your name?" "Yusuf Bataar." "Ah, very good. First off, you must pledge alligance to the Khante, and me. You start off as a recruit, those who serve me well rank up quickly, are you ready? "I am my Lord."

Chapter 2, March 25th 1257

After joining the Army, I was placed in Sebula Noyan's party of soldiers. When I asked him who we were fighting, he replied with one word, "Vaegirs." "Well, what are we going to do?" I said. "Well, were going to siege Dramug Castle. The closer we strike the capitol, the faster we win this war." said the Noyan. We went to our horses and carried off, and during the time we rode to Dramug I kept wondering, "Will we win? Whats it like? Is it like fighting that theif?". Finally, after 3 days of travelling, we started besiging Dramug Castle. During the pure chaos of storming it and forcefully taking it from the Vaegirs, one of them, who I believe was a Marksman, whacked me with his flat edge of his sword. I repaid him by stabbing him in the leg, then kicking him off the wall, however, he decided to grab on to my boot before he fell, and I plummeted with him. I hit the ground, and then...everything went black.

Chapter 3, March 26th 1257

I woke up in a ditch today, sorrounded by my fallen comrades and enemies. As I slowly grope my way through equipment, armor, and the occasional pool of blood or bone sticking out, I overhear two vaegir guards talking. "So, what are we going to do with the bodies?" said one of them. "Well, Boyars orders, were gonna bury em." "Well, lets not hesitate to get this task done, after all, we'll get paid more. wont we?" as they move closer, I see a wooden stick by my side. Hisitating not to pick it up wouldve gotten me killed. As I blend in, looking like a dead man, I hear the Guards piling up bodies of the dead and wounded. When one comes near me, I grabbed his neck and whacked him on the head 5 times with the stick to knock him out. I thank God that the other one didnt notice. As I slowly creep up on him, I strike. I rip off his war mask and bludgeon him in the nose. I ask him forcefully, "WHERE IS THE NOYAN?" He replies with "In the dungeon! In the dungeon!" Realizing that if I let the guards live, Id die, I had to do something not so clean.

Chapter 4, March 26th 1257

I disguised myself as one of the guards. After another one asked me where the other one was, I said that he sent me to get help. "Oh really?" he asked.  I slam him against the dungeon wall and whack him with the Wooden stick. As he falls unconcious, he lands on something hard and I hear a echoeing snap come from his neck area. I take off his armor and weapons, preparing to go get them for Sebula. As I walk in I see the Noyan, wounded. He says to me "Go ahead you Vaegir scum, kill me!" then he spits in my direction. I life up the mask and say "Why thank you for your kindness my Lord." "Oh, forgive me." says the Sebula Noyan. "Come, put this on!", I say as I use a sword by his side to cut the chains. Five minutes later, we leave the Castle in a descreet fashion. "My Lord, why did it go so wrong?" I say. "I have no idea." Says Sebula. As we ride away, he tells me that he realized something-that one of the Khergit Noyans mustive tipped the Vaegirs off!

Chapter 5, March 30th 1257

Me and Sebula finally reached Tulga. Ugh. We were in a rush, so we had to sprint through the streets to get to the castle. After getting permission from the guards, we walk in. Me and Sebula are greeted by a horrorfying sight. Two dead Khergit Khans Guards, a seriously wounded Sanjar, and a dying Akadan Noyan. I rush over to Sanjar, who says that the one who betrayed the Khante was Belir Noyan! "Quick! Akadans dead! We still have time to get Sanjar to a safe place! Come!"

Chapter 6, March 30th 1257

Dear Jorunal,

Escorting Sanjar to the the doctors house was a living Hell. Commoners, like me, lined the streets, some crying, some terrified, all wondering why this happened. "Who did this terrible thing?!?!?" a woman asked. "Belir. Belir Noyan." said I. After walking 10 minutes, we finally reached the doctors "House", or should I say a pitched tent outside of the city. A man named Jeremus came in with medical tools, some honey, herbs, plants, a knife, and some Leeches. Three more men came in following Jeremus, carrying more supplies. I recognized one as the caravan merchant I helped unload on my first day in Tulga, Marnid. I striked up a conversation with him as we got ready to treat the Khan. "So, Marnid, what have you been doing since the last time we met?" I asked. Marnid replied with, "Nothing much." "So Marnid, who are these two other helpers?" I asked him. "Well, one is Borcha, the one in the light armor. He's a friend of mine. He may be a bandit, but he is quite worthy of helping you when you need it. This other lad is Nizar. He is a cheerful, artistic, and generally carefree Nomad. Dont worry my friend, Jeremus is the best doctor in all of Calradia." said Marnid. "Anything else?" I asked. Marnid replied with, "Well, if you need help, go to the tent pitched outside of town. The four of us are part of a 16 man and woman team who help travellers." "Good" I replied with. "Come, let us treat the Sanjar Khan."

Chapter 7, March 31st 1257.

I will never forget last night. The commoners were filled with hatred for Belir Noyan, just like every other good minded Khergit. Wooden models of Belir burned in the streets, the peasants cheering while they burned. In the morning, I awoke in the tent, with the still healing Khan. Sebula was next to me about a foot away. As I climb up, I hear Jeremus, the doctor whisper to me, "Please be as quiet as possible! The Khan needs his rest." As I walk out, I go back into the city. One of the guards greets me, and I walk in, I then see an amazing sight. Whole squads of Khergits marching in full armor. Some on horses and some arent. Sparring practices, Archery, not the usual. I ran up to a Keshing lancer and asked what was happening. "Well, by orders of our glorious Khan, Sanjar, the Khergit armies are on high alert because of the attacks on the Noyans, who were sold out by that scumbag, Belir. Every Khergit man over Seventeen will be conscripted into the army. Apparantly we wont stop until Belir is dead." "Wow." I thought to myself. Every Khergit male, over 17, being consripted into the Army...Kajun...Kajun I thought to myself. My long time friend. He was 18. He never dreamed of fighting, he wanted to become a goods peddler, like my father. Poor Kajun. From then on I had a goal. I would travel to Dirigh Aban to see him. I realized that going there by myself would be suicide, because of bandits and even the occasional deserter or Vaegir patrol party. I them remembered, the tent. I ran back, and asked if anyone was willing to help me check out how it was like back in Dirigh Aban. Only four came to my aid, Rolf, matheld, Nizar, and Ymira. I instructed them to follow me and then we got on our horses and rode into the sunrise.

Chapter 8, April 2nd 1257
Dear Jounal

The five of us were attacked by Steppe Bandits yesterday. I noticed that Ymira was quite a valiant fighter. She cut a rein on the Bandits saddle and he flies off, and lands on Rolf's blade.  We happened to rescue some prisoners too. Apparantly thir names were Dranton, Kradus, and Xernia. We stole some weapons and three horses for them. Finally, in the afternoon, we made it to Dirigh Aban, or as me and Kajun liked to call it, Diri. I ran up to my grandfather, the Eillage Elder. I asked him where Kajun was. "Over there. In the Felt hat." "Thank you, Grandafther." I run to Kajun. "Yusuf?" Kajun says. "Im here my friend." I reply. "Care to join me and my party? We serve Sebula Noyan." Said I.  "Well, sure!" said Kajun. We go ahead and leave the village.

Chapter 9, April 2nd 1257

Halfway to Tulga, we ran into more bandits. During the skirmish, most of the bandits were killed. I saw at least 5 fall to Kajun's Sabre. However, one of them hit me with a bow. I felt fine after ripping t out, and then I noticed that me Lamellar Vest started turning a shade of red. I felt woozy, and then...

I finally got the chance to read it and I really like it. There are two things I'd like to point out. Firstly it would be better if you mentioned when and how you get your armour and weapons (something like "bought a sword at the market") and secondly, swords are 2nd worst when it comes to cutting chains. Next time perhaps steal the key from the dead guard?

I wanted to mention that too. If chains were ropes, than okay, but you cannot cut metal with a sword you know.

Chapter 10, April 3rd 1257
Dear Journal,

I remember waking up in Jeremus's tent.  Many of my friends sourrounded me. Kajun noticed I woke up. "Ugh...w-what happened?" I asked. "Oh nothing." Kajun said; "Just a arrow wound, Jeremus had to take out the arrowhead, some internal bleeding, nothing much." "Why thank you." I said. I got up, put on my surprisingly bloodied Lamellar Vest.  Everything around my belly area was a shade of copper, followed by a rectangular slit in the center of the copper splotch. I go out of the tent, and I find my midnight black leather boots beside it. I put them on and hurry into town. I see Sanjar Khan, the leader of the Khergits, waiting for me. I run up to him. "Do you need me my Lord?" I ask. "Well, considering you valor and bravery in combat, yes. You see, Ive been looking to replace the two Khans Guards killed in Berlirs attack, and I would like you to be one of them." Said Sanjar. "Why yes my Lord, Ill take up the postition." Said I. "Do you have any reccomendations for the other post?" Asked the Khan Sanjar. I replied. "My friend Kajun." "Very well." Said Sanjar. "Here. Take these 10000 Denars. Go buy yourself a New Sabre and a new helmet. This old one wont do any good." Sanjar threw me my old helmet. I remembered the Vaegir Castle. My helmet had a hole in it the size of one of those sharpened logs. I felt relieved that it came off during the fall. As I walk down to the Arms Merchants, I get tackeled by a bandit. He runs away about twenty feet then trips. I take back my purse and knock him out. As a bonus, I treat myself to his aswell. Im not that amused that he had only 50 denars, but it would do. I get to the armor merchant. I ask for a Khergit Guard Helmet. He gives me one and I pay him the 4576 Denars he asks for. Then I get to the arms merchant. After I get my new polished sabre, I find that I have still 3500 Denars left. I keep them on me and go to the castle. As Im allowed in, Sanjar gives me my armor. The armor shines in the sunlight. I put it on, including the new boots. Carrying my old boots back, when I reach the tent I go to Kajun, and give him them. I decide the rest of the day Id go on patrol with the Khan.

Chapter 11, April 4th 1257

Last night Tulga was besiged by Boyar Vuldrats party. During the combat, I picked up a shied from a fallen comrade, and used it to defend Sanjar Khan from arrows. I also killed about 15 Vaegir Marksman personally. I realized that my armor was probably some of the best around. Later that night Sebula Noyan came around with some Keshing Lancers and finished off the attackers. Considering how we won, Sanjar ordered the Taverns to allow services to the soldiers. While most of the men got drinks, I was famished, so all I had was some soup, then a bit of ale and a cup of wine to top it off. I went to bed and woke up later that night for the watch. I noticed as I went to my post the head merchant and some commons acting suspicious. When a guard shouted that another party came, this time only 50 Strong, some other guards readied their bows. Then I heard screaming. I ran and climbed across some rooftops and watched who was opening the gate, none other that the captain of the watch! I was filled with anger. As some of the troops came in, I jumped onto some wooden planks behind the walls, and then I landed in a bale of hay. As the captain walked back, the Head Merchant yelled some civillians to arms. As they attacked some Vaegirs and bandits with the captain, I focused soley on him. I ran up to him, wanting to test my saber. It worked. It worked well. As he lay on the ground, and the Merchant and some commons watched, they were overjoyed. He walked up to me and said: "You did this city a great favor." As he walked back to help provide some resistance with the guards against the attackers, I cllimbed back up and fired arrows at the Vaegirs. After that skirmish, I went back to bed. This time sleeping through the rest of the night.

You're getting better. This is the only thing that puzzled me.

As a player yes you get to decide but if it was real life then how could guarding the Khan be optional when you're his guard?
