Chapter 1, March 22nd 1257
Dear Journal, Ive finally arrived in Tulga today. My self-proclaimed "Mission" was to help some caravan merchants unload and then report to the Khan to join his army. After unloading a caravan from a nice merchant named Marnid, I headed off to see the Khan. During the trip there, I noticed that the streets seemed....dead. Then I heard smething that made the hair on the back of my neck stand up-the sound of a blade, raising from its scabbard! Because I wasnt prepared for this, I almost lost. After all, why would the son of a Khergit Pea Farmer turned Goods Peddler fight? After about 5 minutes, which i suspected were the worst five of my life, I won. I kncked out the theif with a quick hit by my wooden staff. Then a Merchant came to my aid. He took me in willingly, and explained to me that bandits were becoming more and more common in the lands sorrounding Tulga. After staying there for the night, the next morning I went to the Khan. "Who are you?" he said. I replied, "Another peasant willing to be turned your loyal soldier." "Good" said Sanjar, "What is your name?" "Yusuf Bataar." "Ah, very good. First off, you must pledge alligance to the Khante, and me. You start off as a recruit, those who serve me well rank up quickly, are you ready? "I am my Lord."
Chapter 2, March 25th 1257
After joining the Army, I was placed in Sebula Noyan's party of soldiers. When I asked him who we were fighting, he replied with one word, "Vaegirs." "Well, what are we going to do?" I said. "Well, were going to siege Dramug Castle. The closer we strike the capitol, the faster we win this war." said the Noyan. We went to our horses and carried off, and during the time we rode to Dramug I kept wondering, "Will we win? Whats it like? Is it like fighting that theif?". Finally, after 3 days of travelling, we started besiging Dramug Castle. During the pure chaos of storming it and forcefully taking it from the Vaegirs, one of them, who I believe was a Marksman, whacked me with his flat edge of his sword. I repaid him by stabbing him in the leg, then kicking him off the wall, however, he decided to grab on to my boot before he fell, and I plummeted with him. I hit the ground, and then...everything went black.
