Yesterday i was playing invasion gamemode. Itself its nice. But then someone had an idea to turn it to night and thunder and in open field map. It was freaking awesome. Then i had an idea. What if you make a gamemode, where you need to escort something or run your ass off to safety, while you are trown stuff from all sides. Thatd be awesome.

If The Deluge was to grow into more of a 2nd Northern War mod, then personally I think the team would need some help. It would require new nations and so, new equipment, and currently only Bartus works on models and the like.

But the most needed would be sources about the equipment. Devs have access to a good historian, but as far as I know, he focuses on Polish(military?) history, so he had a lot of knowledge about uniforms and Eq of Polish and neighboring states' armies. It would be much harder to find sources on for example Habsburg Eq and uniforms from that time period, especially in Polish.

Even then, there was a lot of nations involved in the war, and there is no way to accommodate for all of them. So there would be choices, which ones should be included and in what order.

From my perspective, it would take quite some effort to expand this way. I'm not saying that it is a bad idea, it is definitely interesting, but it is not as simple as it might seem. (Or at least so I think)

I can make a small contribution)) in the brf-editor, i have done this . This combination was inspired by watching a film Сaptain Alatriste. Hat and bandana were little resized and recolored

I love it, personally!

+1 for officers

I forgot to tell you that i didnt see livonian knights in this mod though. Would be funny to see knights with guns.
You mean the Livonian Order? I'm afraid there are not in the timeframe. They went defunct around 1560s, so good 60 years before the mod's timeframe.

I feel that this Mod could so with leaning a little towards having many of Europe's Major nations in it ie. Sweden or the Netherlands who were both power houses of this form of military. Something that would be a fun as a little sub mod would be English civil war sides added in.

Perhaps fun? Sure. Completely unfitting to the mods theme and setting? Certainly. All you need to do is google "Deluge (history)" and you can find all the nations involved in it. Oh yeah and Sweden is already in so might want to pay a bit more attention to detail next time
I know the History of Deluge. I'm just saying it's not everybody's cup of tea to play as Tartars or Cossacks (Though I may be very wrong). Maybe somebody could make an eighty year war mod in the future using the same ideas that make Deluge an amazing mod.

Oh, i taought that this WAS around livonian war timeline (muscovy is not yet formed to russia thing...). But how about then curonians? They eere there at the time, but i cant see any of their symbolic in commonwealth faction.

The timeframe of this mod is roughly from Khmelnytsky uprising(164:cool: till Polish-Turkish wars.
About Curonians, were they? Weren't they conquered by the Livonian Order you mentioned before?
I know it is not a reliable source, but Wiki says that Curonians assimilated with Lithuanians by 16th century.
Also, their presence(if any) must have been rather well... Insignificant, because quite frankly, I don't think I've heard of them before. And if they were important to matters concerning the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, I would have certainly heard about them.
In game we have the Tsardom of Russia(Muscovy), not the Grand Principality of Moscow.

History about Livonian order: created in year 125X after the sworbrother defeat in battle of Saule. After the white coats were completly sweeped off, grey coats (non-knights) took over and made partially independet theocracy from pope - Livonian order. About 400 years passed, until the Livonain war (started 1560 ended around 1580( im no google, i cant remember accurate  dates)). In first part of Livonian war ( first part - order exists, second part - order divided) Livonian orders  bishobies (five of them, which together took half of territory) decided to choose different sides, not to fight together (Participants of Livonain war - Denmark, Sweeden, Poland-Lithuania and Muscovy). So , by orders goverment shattered, each side fought , but in the end, Livonian order because of inner conflicts shattered. Duchy of Kurland (adjective - curonians) and kingdom of Livonia. Both vassal states were vassals of Commonwealth. While sweeden got Estonia, muscovy nothing, so they attacked kingdom of Livonia and destroied them. Last knights were defeated. Meanwhile, Kurland had a flourishing time, while the whole world had plagues, wars, andfamine, they took the action and monopolized grain market got a.fortune by that to live with. Years passed, and duke Jekab rised. He made a lot of shipyards and sold ships there made for even more money. Unfortunatly Sweeden came in great northen war and took it almost all away. But nevermind of those dark times. BIRONS. By Ketler dynasty going extinct in Kurland, Birons -tsarist Katherina favourite especially - Ernst Johan Biron stabilised the country made two great northern versailes and his heir transsfered the vassal state from poland to Russian empire. In 1795 it was annexed by Russia  20 years later, by fears of peasent uprising, in todays territory of Latvia and Estonia, peasent were released. 50 years later in all the Russia.

Bycuronia i might have misguided you - i didnt meant the tribes. And you were kinda wrong about assimilation - curronians, semigalians, and latgallians assimilated together in Lavians, yotwigs, samogitians assimilated into Lithunians, but old prussians died out. The todays prussians are called like that, becase they are germans, that grew up in prussian lands, not because they are advanced old prussians.
Sorry for double post, but writing on phone is hard.

Please fix Cossack faction as soon as possible. Their cavalry has absolutely no weapon against other factions' cavalry. Every other faction has either lances or longer swords while the cossacks have no lances, and only short swords. This leads to a lot of situations where the faction is underpowered. Since cossacks are mainly a cavalry faction, I believe they should have advantages in that regard.

I think that the Don Cossacks (Muscovite tsardom) must be able to use spears\lances on horseback. I know it because i reading that Don cossacks were using spears on horseback starting from the 2nd half of 16 th century.

Don't worry, I know he knows Sweden are in the mod.

I'm not sure if people would be interested in an ECW sub-mod. As much as I'd love that I don't see it having wider appeal. Notably it would consist of three factions, pretty much identical to each other except slight clothing differences (Royalist forces having monterro caps, Scot's wearing grey & blue bonnets) and minor differences in equipment (Parliamentarians would have the option of doglocks for musketeers*). It could work, I'd love it, but would enough people be interested in it?

*Because London. The prominent gunsmiths in England tended to be in London, making it the centre of English gun manufacture, and spent the war under Parliamentarian control. This is how the Tower Hamlets Trayned Bandes were able to gain an advantage with their doglocks against Royalist musketeers with matchlocks during night fighting near Cropredy Bridge;
According to Richard Coe, who wrote an account of his service under Captain Christopher Gore, the Tower Hamlets' advance guard stood to all night to the rear of the bridge and hung lit match from pallisadoes a musket shot from their position to conceal their dispositions. When the Royalist pickets fired on them during the night, the Hamlets musketeers (armed with doglocks, which needed no match) fired back from their true position beneath a hedgerow.

I would most definetly play an ECW sub mod..

See my point is made. An ECW sub mod would rock.

The only two factions would be Royalists, Parliament (with a Scottish Converts unit to represent the Scots who did get involved). North and South only has two factions and it has a very sizable community. The way to tell the two sides apart would have to be done quite well. The three key factors would be coat colour, The Flags used (This would need the Deluge's amazing custom flag ability) and the ability to have an Orange or Red sash. As I whole if well done and well publicized I recon an ECW mod or sub mod with Deluge ability could have massive potential.

I love this mod and I absolutely love the gamemode Invasion and I'm sure others love it to which is why I was thinking about revamping some things with the Invasion gamemode. Invasion is arguably one of the most popular gamemodes in this mod which is why I believe it needs a bit of an update which could possible make it more fun.

My first concept which I think would be great is that you should be able to call in supply reinforcements at the beginning and end of each round. You would be able to ask/buy reinforcements from the supply box at the beginning/end of each round (examples would be lances; since they break often, barricades; limited to one per two rounds, better weapons, and cannon ammunition/powder). Now the way that you acquire money for  the supplies is determined by how long you survive (in rounds) on top of how many kills you get. For example: you survive three rounds and kill ten enemy bots, but you team-kill a teammate  (3 rounds x 100 + 10kills x 25 - 200tk =  350 thaler). Also, weapons and supplies cost more than if you were to buy them from the reinforcements.

The way these players get these supplies would be a bit more realistic instead of just getting them. Once the players settle on what they need the supplies would come at the end of the next round at they would be located in a chest on a wagon that would spawn opposite of the bot spawn on the map. The players would be able to link the wagon with the chest and bring it inside of their defenses every single time the supplies were asked for. Then inside the chest the players would be able to attain what ever they bought. then once the round starts the wagon would de-spawn so that players would not be able to abuse it's ability for defenses, and the same process would repeat until the game ends.

Please if you can respond what you think about this honestly what you think about this by replying. And of course, changes should be done to make this more appealing to the public.

There won't be any.

The plan is to port the mod from WSE to "clean" Warband v1.161, so that nobody will have problems launching it. Now when TW added many new operations on my request, it should be possible. We will still lose tons of current features, but not as many as with 1.160 patch.

It will be a hell lot of work for me, but I think it will be worth the time. I will start porting as soon as I'm done with my current work.
