How would game recognize when you're sending someone to death, and when he has chances to win? There are situations, when you as a player can easily win, while AI can not. For you, such a situation is OK. For AI, it might be sending to death...

As random as this is, I'd kind of like to point out that "Thane" is a title more Gaelic in origins, and Thanes were in fact not the "servants" of lords, but landholders in their own right and pretty much equal to them. I believe in pre-Norman England and Scotland a Thane was similar to a Count and was outranked only by Dukes and Earls. That being said, I really like the idea of this sort of "vassal's vassal", I think it could be great if properly implemented.

I agree that the idea of losing honor based on the death of your subordinate doesn't make sense. Morale? Perhaps. Honor? No. If anything, proof that someone was so loyal that they were willing to die for you should result in you gaining honor.

Sending a unit to its death is not dishonorable for this time period (or most time periods, for that matter). It was simply the way things worked. Pretty much every soldier on the front lines was going to die within a few battles, but they did what they were told and (for better or worse) accepted it as the way of the world.

I like the idea and I hope that it (and somekind of Freelancer (Warband-mod)) gets to Mount and Blade 2.
