Nice mod i like it much, but one thing annoys me about it and i'm not sure if it's a bug or intentional. The thing is, that at medium range rifles and revolvers do 0 or 1 damage. I lined up my infantry against npcs and they were all shooting for a few minutes not doing any damage ? Even i got hit for zero. Is there a way to extend the effective range of guns ?

They aren't that far tbh (image)

I'm getting the same issue now. About "35 days" into the campaign and now all units for all sides seem to be mainly shooting at the ground. When they fire, the puffs of smoke are angled downward and the few shots that do hit seem to be doing 0-1 damage. It's very rare now that anyone is actually killed, even at ranges I would call throwing distance.

My men and the enemy are staring each other down in open field less than 100 meters away from each other and no one is getting any hits save for the random kill made every minute or so.

Captured a screenshot of it below.

Want to announce that I solved this issue by verifying Warband's file integrity through steam (found 3 missing files) and reinstalling the mod. Smoke bursts still go off in the wrong direction but troops from all sides seem to be firing accurately once more and doing acceptable damage at a distance.

Some small pathfinding problems occurred to some battle scenes ... So here we are :
1) U.S. fort. The attackers never managed to enter on their own. No one never managed to go up the stairs except me but still , when I went up, the others wouldn't follow ... I broke down the side door and made them follow me almost inside ... Then it went fine   http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=282372818
2) save the village attacked by bandits : In this scene my troops are in a little fort but they can't charge the enemy. They are in advantage though and the next time I just made them stand ground otherwise the ones that managed to jump out where easily killed/wounded by the bandits.  http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=282373146

Found another bug.

If you equip the companion Crumbs with a bow and the arrows with poison gas, he will often target the player directly for some reason.

I've been several meters away from the back of my firing line only to have Crumbs shoot me with one of his arrows, the explosion occurs where I am with pin-point accuracy and I even get the message that I was knocked unconscious by Crumbs.

It wouldn't be so bad if me being knocked unconscious didn't guarantee that a good amount of my men will instantly die regardless of how many enemies are left.

I've notice boots, shoes, and the like go missing from the market after a while into the game. The only way I can possibly get new stompers is if I manage to loot some from enemies :/

i posted a review on moddb.com

just keep it up its a mod that has a few bugs and problems but its still and very funnnnn to play.

the range of the guns should be fixed. on all weapons they should be revamped. they kinda are strange with a colt being just as powerful and accuate as the new sharps carbine lol

Hi everyone.

First of all let me thank Gabrilduro and his team. I've played 1755 and 1860, and both are amazing.
Yet, I'm afraid you were right before, 1860 has a way to go to match 1866. After a brief test this are some of the issues I've noticed, and some suggestions of my own:

-The damage system according to distance should be fixed. It's a great improve, given each weapon has a certain accuracy of its own regardless shooter's skill, but its set too short for long guns, which certainly must have some more reach than pistols.

-Item_kinds has to be reviewed. The damage and weight of some guns and items has almost certainly some typewriting mistake. For example, the ironplated poncho should only defend that much the body, not head or legs as it does, and should weigh more than 1, if it refers to A fistful of dollars. It'd also be an interesting to set different accurate according to each gun, compensating the more firepower with accuracy loss, the way it was done in 1866.

-There should be more enemy parties. For such an extensive map there are relatively few enemies and the existing parties are small, it could be fixed setting the spawn time for enemy parties to a lower value so the encounters grew.

-Adding the option to recieve missions from lords, guildmasters and village elders after refusing one would help for a more dynamic gameplay.

Also, adding some of the features of 1866 like duels and such would for sure make this mod funnier. It's not like copying 1866 to warband, but adapting some of its concepts to 1860 to enrich it. Your map, landscapes and fortifications are wonderful and the addition of formations gives some of the tactics lacking on other mods, not to mention the immerssing soundtrack.
Keep it up, and if I can be of any help let me know.

Wouldn't that make the mod more unstable and slower for people with a mediocre PC?

It would be interesting, but also very hard to code, especially since this mod is essentially coded by a one-man team (Gabby), who also only codes by tweaking text files.

Hi there,

i really hope this forum/mod isnt dead yet.. cause i really could use some help.
downloaded this mod a couple of days ago and beside 1 thing i really really enjoy it so far.
quest times!!!..despite the dialogues say 30/50 days for example, the actual quest has to be done in 3-5 days, which is in my opinion almost impossible..regarding the HUGE size of the map..
i really tried but im going with the USA and my reps with new york and washington are at -15 now cause i cant finish quests (due to too short times OR bandit quests where bandits cant be found)
so please can anyone help me with this?...maybe show me how and where to edit the files so i can edit the days?..i searched the forums and the internet but had no luck so far..i managed to change the guild masters dialogue options so that they offer new quests after you decline one, but that doesnt work with all of them..sometimes my game crashes..so i changed it back to normal.
right now its not sooo bad..quests like escort caravans dont really matter, but i already screwed up a "make peace" quest.. i had 3 days to get from new york to denver...even with all cavalry group and path finding 5...no chance..

thx for reading and i hope someone can help.
going to ask in the modders forum too..

I am afraid you'll have to cheat and teleport on the campaign map; I'll tell the creator of the mod about this problem when he becomes active again (currently he suffers from heart problems but he is determined to finish his mods).
All the coding for this mod is done via the text files, so I suppose the sollution should be in there too; I am not sure whether the game crashing is caused onlyby your editing of those files, because at times the mod is unstable anyway...

thx for the news..actually a already enabled cheats..and well..it works but its hard to not misuse it^^
one more thing

abraham lincoln only gives one quest..in which you should find a bandit hideout of the canadians or somewhere in the north..anyone knows where that is??..even with cheat-teleport i cant find it..searched the whole north..
is he giving other quests after you solved this?

thy

cant say for sure now..he doesnt mean a faction i think he means it geographically...by any means..some sort of raiders/bandits like in the tutorial quest..

Guys, sometimes, textures are black, and when I try to enter shootouts it crashes, even once when I tried to leave a village, I am new to 1860's mod.

Is there a way to make it crash less? I don't play w/ cheats.

Isn't there a bandit hideout near Washington DC? Maybe he meant that one.

you mean the hidden mine? the purple bandit hideout thats visible and doesnt respawn?...nope^^..
i read it now again..the dialogue speaks of canadian raiders first and then says, "its best to cpature some of those tundra raiders and follow them to the hideout"...
still cant find anything, spotting +3 and teleporting around..
it came to my mind..it could actually be anywhere..in native such quests where always relatively specific about bandit locations..in this mod i get silly quests in new york about some bandits bewteen new york and lakota sioux trading camp..which is half across the map..which therefore could be anywhere...
i really enjoy this mod but the fact that maybe half of the quests are unable to solve (or you have to cheat) ..well ..just sad..

is it normal that lords (generals etc) dont give quests as soon as you join their faction?..i only get 1 mission..a start war mission...everything else is dumped at least with USA Gens..

mhhh...okay..
sooo i kinda realize now that my problems earlier were..foolish^^...im 50 days into peace now, not a single lord gives me missions and NO faction is at war or starts wars...

I enjoyed this mod to a great extent. Overall it performed reasonably well, with occasional CTD's (one repeated CTD was caused when I engaged Comanche raiders with my twin star revolvers at close range...). Looks like there are still a number of minor glitches with French names and flags being used in the wrong places...A wishlist for further development would include full diplomacy added to the mod and a reworking of the towns available, perhaps laid out in more logical clusters...Ie., a trade town (major city) surrounded by smaller "villages" (towns) and a fort per region vs. the random layout presently...I do appreciate all the work and time put into this and I enjoyed it immensely...Oh, and somebody please change "Sheriff Assistant" to "Deputy Sheriff" !
