Sounds like it's coming along quite nicely.

I have to commend you for taking the decision to cut down the number of items. That was definitely the right thing to do.

Quality > Quantity most certainly.
 
Thanks! I used for the scene quite some custom scene props too (towers, walls, houses etc). Now it's really a little Dutch place.

It used to be like 'those items look cool. Let's add them!'. But now I really had a good thought about how the weapons all should be :smile:.
 
Im just wondering how we would access it. Would it be added to the map as another castle, and would we be able to lay siege and all that?
 
First i must admit I´m really excited about the overall progress you guys are making! :smile:
The Castle looks really great, may i ask which scene you used as a basis for that? Thinking about playing around with the SceneEditor by myself :wink: Also like rbcarter asked: Will it be possible to own/Siege etc.?
What about more PlayerHeraldic on Troops? Was it taken care of whilest going through the items?
And thank you for going through all those items :wink: much of them where really out of place in my opinion, just not matching the setting. Was quite a bunch of work! thumbs up!

Exchanged an existing not so fitting castle. Yes.

So, I know "when is the next version coming out?" type of question is generally frowned upon anywhere, but I've got to ask something:

Is the 2.5 release soon-ish, or should I play a game of 2.41a first? I assume it is not save-compatible.
 
Soonish. As in late novembrish if all goes smoothly.

It wont be savegame compatible. But it will be greatly improved from 2.41a.

Would it be possible for us to get a features list of what it'll add/chance before hand? Or is there one out already?
 
It would take quite a bit of time to write one, especially considering that we all are writing our own features and dont necessarily know of all the other things that are being added.
To share some info - here is the changelog of the second beta stage so far.

Code:
The files are in the Floris Mod Pack 2.5 folder. Please, don't unpack it there, but at another place of your harddisk.

- Menus, Presentations, Scripts and Simple triggers .txt were updated

- Tweaked initialization script slightly to avoid invalid (inactive) parties in the loop
- Fixed part of the bank, added the ability to get to the money generated by acres owned, this is done automatically when one goes into the presentation - this has to be done for each town seperately, which is my intention
- Packed party related reports into a submenu called Party reports. This includes Force Morale, Force Size, Companions Overview and Char-Companion View

On the scene idea monnikje mentioned - the full thought was somewhat along these lines:

Each terrain would have a (preferably large) number of scenes to choose from additionally to the randomly generated scenes. This would work based on chance, which would let the game pick either the custom made or the auto generated scene. This would let you keep the changing terrains with changing challenges, but at the same time give you some well made maps to up the overall quality of fights.
 
I must say you've out done yourself yet again Monn. The flowers... I cant thank you enough for getting rid of those, and the trees as well.

Troop trees are looking cool, though I must say I disapprove of the new armors for the Ecuyer, Chevalier, and Banneret. My only qualms.

Other than that, all looks super. Keep up the great work.

On behalf of the scenes question:
I like the idea of giving up the random maps especially in hilly terrain if we get really well made ones instead (and I expect nothing else of you^^)
But maybe the spawn locations on the new maps could be random to not have the battles to be to static?
 
I feel spawning on a cliffside or hill like that is a blessing from god. Good over look position, as I often used many archers in battles. I say keep it the way it is.

Randomly generated terrain wont be removed, custom made scenes will be added and they will be used based on chance. We can give them a high or low chance to be used depending on what folks would want/like. Also custom made scenes can have hills and cliffs all the same, but you and your army wouldnt be spawned on the hill or cliffside, but on top of it .
 
The past week I've been working on giving the troops from both the Reworked and the Expanded trees their items.
I might have missed something and thus will probably feel very stupid when I get an anwer on this, but is there going to be more then one trooptree to choose from, or something?
