Brandis

Sergeant at Arms
well  for sod warlords version 5 there should be a japanese invasion called the geto. there lords are shoguns and king is emperor. there troop tree is samurais on horse and horse archers also heavy footmen.

Terrible creatures from the depths of hell, spreading death and destruction, gnawing on peasants' brains and bones. **** Japan, demon slayin' is where it's at.

How can you question Brandis' seriousness!? You can see the determination in his eyes, hands sweating and his voice deep as night itself. This is a matter which must not be passed light-heartedly, for the fate of universe depends on him and his poll. The end of times is nigh, we can wait no longer, we must act AT ONCE!
We don't know our enemy. It could be you, it could be me (not) or even the great and almighty Brandis himself! Who will invade us next? Are they the honorable Japanese? Devious undead? Cunning president caricatures? The Christian Inquisition? No-one can expect the Christian Inquisition! Have you though about that!?

DoctorPringles, I am most disappointed in you, for you can not see the darkness that has fallen upon this holy soil we call Terra.

Be prepared.
Be. Very. Prepared.

Or how about the f*ing awesome super secret force I'ce been designing with Computica ever since this project began ?

*ominous music*

No, seriously. We have things planned out. We just don't reveal anything yet cos' there's a long way to go 'till we come to v5 or v6 and much can happen between now and then. But the basics (story and balance-wise) are all laid out already. We aim to try to please both veteran and new players when it comes to the invasion.

Accordingly, this topic is redundant.

1. Uncontrolled ferret infestation.  If this is such a danger that the State of California had to ban ferrets, it should be playable in the mod.  After all, the State of California doesn't bankrupt itself pursuing idiotic notions!
2. Robots.  Girl Robots. 'Nuff Said.
3. Steam-powered Socialist Socialites! (Okay, maybe a bit too much like #2 above.)
4. Terrible Tungsten Tortoises!
5. Madonna, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, and Joan Baez form a super-group and start touring Ponovosa. (Okay, far too much like #3 above.)
6. Attack Kelp.
7. Gorse.
8. Anthrax.  Not the disease, the 80's metal group.  (Okay, too much like #5 above.)
9. Ponovosa is converted to a giant golf complex and battles have to be booked three months in advance and attack parties can only foray out in foursomes.
10. Something else that MorrisB is keeping in his twisted mind. (I really hope it is nothing like #2,3,5 or 8 above.)

@Brandis: be prepared... be very prepared...

@manekemaan: if I was given a free hand and Warband wouldn't have some annoying engine limitations, you would be fighting aliens, mutants, templars with lightning cannons and I'd still find a way to give a logical explaination for their appearence (Hexplore, anyone ?). Unfortunately, this cannot be done and would be pretty out-of-the-picture, so I have to stay on ground level.   nevertheless, I may just manage to persuade Computica to include some nasty secret suprises...

Clockwork horses and a army of tin knights!

Powered by, uh... an Anartian Engiineer following Natural Philosophy to construct the ultimate "faith" (robotic) army!

The best things in a paranoid universe are when the exceptions are the most highly polished element of the scenario.  If there was a supernatural component, it would need to be as close to a "down the rabbit hole" excursion as possible, but the catch edge needs to be a very small crevice indeed.  Not a "Has the village been attacked by vampires?" option on every village elder, but some village elders who are different and offer different choices at night, for instance. Yes, you can waste a lot of time and effort building the vampire/werewolf/necromancer/college fraternity plotline, but the lovely part about this is the way it writes itself.

My favorite version of this is the reveal in "Sweet Silver Blues" by Glenn Cook (an author I've met and always failed to impress, if he didn't write so well I'd stop reading him in a fit of pique). http://www.amazon.com/Sweet-Silver-Blues-Garrett-P-I/dp/0451450701/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1318626265&sr=8-1 That's not free, like my book links usually are, but it's worth a buy in the Kindle edition.  If you want an inexpensive hardover of the first three in the series, check here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/0739436090/ref=dp_olp_used?ie=UTF8&qid=1318626265&sr=8-3&condition=used I mention the Garret, P.I. series because his approach to secrets provides a much more sustainable reveal than most I've seen. Supernatural reveals shouldn't feel tired, and most of the glamor they get is awfully worn.

lol  deadlus  another idea would be  the LAGG knights  the goal is to find their hidden town and take it before they conquer ponavosa

the lagg problem in sod they pwn  they kill using game bugs that reduce the world map by eating memory evntually the map will disappear
the castle is in a hidden island that wont be part of the map
i wont tell you where it is
