RP - guide under construction

Many definition of it but in PW one an one only works:

Get sucked by game/by players/by world of game which souround you. Act as you are there. As it is your life on the line.

You probably think it is pointless.

It is not and never will be. I can read about RP in PW every day. It would be actually great if I would read about it instead about complains,whining and flamewars.

We all learn how to be IN CHARACTER.

This is not easy. It takes time to go out of OUR WORLD and step in to OTHER WORLD. It takes even longer to understand that OTHER WORLD WORKS DIFFERENT. It takes eternity to free yourself from OUR WORLD habits.

More you guys will think about your character more fun you will have. You can be anyone.

Please do not be yourselves....

NOv...don't you get that the people here on the forums are not the people you need to remind of roleplay.

As i said a long while back:

Those who need to read it, won't read it.

Those who read it doesn't need to read it.

I did remember you saying that but can you please stop with the pessimism for a little bit? You're killing my wood high.

RPing is way to hard

Especially on the level of some people take it

Rping is quite simple if you do not take it to hard. Small steps are the best way.

1.Create your character
[because ppl use to skip that part in RP games to get as quickly as possible in. This is probably the most importand part of any RP game]

Really think this through.
Make him/her unique.
- choose name carefully - some name which means something to you
Start to think about HIM/HER (not YOU!)
Prepere story about your character background/legend (you can use your experience from native singlplayer or from other mods)
BE PERSISTANT - when you use your key RP character make sure that HE/SHE act ALWAYS in relation to the past (in game past or legendary/story past)
Try to find people (RP characters) who will know you and relate your character to them (vassalage/family/hommies whatever you can think of)
When you bored or you do not like your character - change it, change name, change everything....maybe one day you will comeback to it.
Record whatever happend in game as past of your character (forget about NLR BTW) - make it part of your character story
If story is to long make your character ancestor. This will give extra background to your character and will make him/her more real.

More to come. I am just getting out ideas for proper guide which I shell add to OP in time.

From my forum experience..You are wrong. The most importand people who can read it are new players who get in trouble[kicks/bans] or just exploring at the moment[trying to find out more about the game it self]. From old forum guys I would rather expect help in creating something which could be usefull.

Two good roleplaying guides. Mine was written almost a year ago. Damn! maybe their outdated but I still think both are good. Anyways good luck!
