I have decided with all the new mission ideas people have been coming up with I'd make a mission ideas topic. this will not be available with other mods and will be only available with the Standalone mod.When you post a mission idea. Make sure you say:
  • What the mission could be called.
  • What the player needs to do.
  • What consequences happen when Finished & Failed.
Please try to be realistic with your ideas and remember some of us are new to missions. Also if you have a good mission coding ability I'd like to hear from you (PM).

Mission wish list
  • When reaching an appropriate high rank in your Lords Army, you can be giving a mission to infiltrate an enemy lords army and gather intel
  • During a battle, have the option to sneak behind enemy lines with a small group of soldiers and engage a small group of enemy soldiers.
  • Your Lord sends you and part of the army to ambush a lord/caravan of the enemy faction
  • Infiltrate the enemy castle and destroy their food supply then fight your way out!
  • Another Lord as heard of your battle skills and demand you to serve under his banner for some time... And Gold!
 
Title: Assassinate enemy officer
Objective: During a battle, have the option to sneak behind enemy lines with a small group of soldiers and engage a small group of enemy soldiers.
Reward for success: relation boost with your lord and/or faction, killed troops removed from battle, additional renown
Consequence for failure: You and the soldiers with you are knocked out of action/killed, loss of honor

P.S. I could create any required scenes for this mission and could try to code it as well but i cant give any promises
 
Title: Ambush!
Objective: Your Lord sends you and part of the army to ambush a lord/caravan of the enemy faction
Rewards: You receive all the loot and gain relation with your lord
Consequences for failure: You loose your rank or you are captured by the enemy

Title: Starve them
Objective: Infiltrate the enemy castle and destroy their food supply then fight your way out!
Reward: Some Money and relation with lord
Consequences: You will meet the castle dungeon

Or a new troop that is only used in this mission like a fellow infiltrator, personally I don't see a heavy knight going ninja, but if they act like reinforcements if the enemy see you it should be good (like when you infiltrate a town but with a bigger street fight!).

Or a new troop that is only used in this mission like a fellow infiltrator, personally I don't see a heavy knight going ninja, but if they act like reinforcements if the enemy see you it should be good (like when you infiltrate a town but with a bigger street fight!).

Title: Fight for another Lord
Objective: Another Lord as heard of your battle skills and demand you to serve under his banner for some time... And Gold!
Reward: Gold And good relations with the Lord you served
Consequences for failure: You will loose renown if your new "temporary" Lord is defeated

Title: Storm the Castle
Objective: your Lord sends you to raise the ladders to prepare for the siege assault the when coming back to the Lord some guards sally out to Destroy you and the ladders
Reward: Instead of waiting for days the equipment is ready for the seige and you improve your renown
Consequences for failure: Chance to be captured or the lord abandons the seige

Title: Patroling
Objective: Patrol the town/castle where your Lord is resting and get rid of the bandits/assassins
Reward: Some Gold
Consequences for failure: Degraded for incompetence

Title: Hire Mercs
Objective: Go to the tavern, end the pub brawl (knock them!) and recruit some Mercs
Reward: The Lord give you the double amount of gold that you spent in hiring Mercs
Consequences: A big Headache? Loose money and renown

Title: Lead the troops
Objective: The Lord trusts you enought to let you lead a company of soldiers during a Battle ( If you are a ranged troop you lead the ranged troops, if you are a knight you lead the cavalry, etc)
Reward: Lots of renown if you lead them successfully onto battle
Consequences: If the troops under your command reach 25% Casualties you loose renown and relations with your Lord

These should be easily possible! Cause If I remember right if the player has a noble/high renown the player would get  a pop-up/mission to serve a lord in one of the M&B versions... Alas.. We just change the variables XD.
 
Title: The Raid? (The idea here is that it occurs randomly while your lord is besieging a town/settlement, normally at night)
Objective: While making preparations for the siege, you get jumped by a raiding party. Hold them off/defend the siege tower with anything at hand. (not wearing full armour, armed with mallets and stuff.)
Reward for success: Pay raise/extra rations. Chance of higher relations with lord if you capture the raid leader.
Consequence for failure: Siege takes longer due to casualties/trashed equipment and decent equipment and money is stolen off you/you're captured if you are a relatively high-ranking soldier.

Title: The better part of valour is discretion
Objective: Enter the castle and fight your way to the gate quietly, then open it.
Reward for success: Lord relations +, proceeds to siege scene where wall scene is bypassed/all allies spawn in courtyard.
Consequence for failure: Happy capture time

Title: Baggage train duty.
Objective: Protect baggage train from raiders.
Reward for success: Lord army does not lose speed, you don't fail, you may get a reward of sorts.
Consequence for failure: Lord army gets slower/get captured/lose rations and money/demotion/Lord relations lost.

Title: Shieldbearer
Objective: You have been assigned to your Lord's inner retinue. Protect him. (involves preventing him from being knocked out in battle (He'll like follow you or something, or stay at the back), or defending his room from assassins.)
Reward for success: Promotion, pay rise, renown, good equipment
Consequence for failure: Several demotions, pay cut, latrine duty for some time.

Title: Latrine duty... in the dungeon.
Objective: While in town you get the wonderful job of latrine duty, which involves waiting, but occasionally some enemy tries to sneak in. May have deal with prison breaks.
Reward for success: +1 ironflesh temporarily, pay rise if you deal with a prison break/intruders.
Consequence for failure: Pay cut. Lose relations.

Title:Watchtower duty
Objective: You are assigned to hold a watchtower. Occasionally you get attacked by brigands, bandits, highwaymen and the odd enemy army (very, very rarely). In the last case you have to burn it down then run.
Reward for success: Promotion, pay rise etc. Lord is slightly unhappy if you have to burn it.
Consequence for failure: You may be captured or make it out. Either way you lose relations.
 
Title: Prisoners of War
Objective: A scout has delivered news of a small group of enemy soldiers escorting prisoners of war closeby. Your Lord is dispatching you and a handful of men to intercept the soldiers, with the hopes of freeing their captives.
Reward for success: Increase in relation with your Lord, small increase in relation with your Lord's faction, small XP and monetary reward, your Lord's army increases.
Consequence for failure: Loss of relation with your Lord, chance of being captured.

You'd immediately enter a battlefield with a couple other soldiers against an enemy force who has troops of your Lord's nation as prisoners. If you win, those prisoners would be added to the Lord's army, helping to keep your Lord out on the field longer.
 
Title: A Lord in Need

Objective: Your regiment was defeated in battle and your lord was captured. Rescue him by any means necessary.

You'd get this mission anytime the above happens and it would stay in your mission bar until you've either saved him or he's been freed. Here's the ways you'd save your lord.

Scenario 1: You approach the enemies that have him at night and sneak up and free him. There's a 50/50 chance of being able to escape with him undetected OR you'll have to fight a small part of the army that's on watch.

Scenario 2: You find him in a castle and pretend you want a job as a guard. They hire you and allow you to guard the prison. You find your lord and escape together. If you have high renown, there's a chance they'll know who you are and that it's a trick. You have to fight your way to the prison from the outside of the great hall, rescue your lord, and then fight your way out with him to escape.

Scenario 3: You approach the enemies that have your lord and enlist in their army. During the night, a box comes up asking you if you want to attempt to save your lord. If you accept, the same thing that happened in scenario 1 takes place, except you can also convince some of the enemy lord's men to team up with you. You have a fight that could end with either both of you being recaptured or you freeing your lord and capturing the enemy lord. The soldiers you convince to desert join your lord's army.

Scenario 4: If any of the above failed, you get captured (Or maybe you got captured on purpose) and you're being held right next to your lord. After punching out the guard, you and your lord don their armor and attempt to escape. If you're noticed as not being the guards, you have to fight your way out of the castle. During that time you can free the prisoners (generic soldiers) and cause chaos to cover your retreat.

Reward for success: Large increase in relation with your Lord, renown boost, a promotion in the army, and both you and the lord are teleported to a friendly town in your faction. You're put back in the army with all of the benefits you previously had and your faction likes you more. The opposite faction and the lord who the castle belongs to or who you freed the lord from gets negative disposition towards you. If you only knocked people unconscious instead of killing anyone during the jail breaks or battles, you gain honor. 

Consequence for failure: You get captured.
 
Posting from a phone so i cant follow protocall. When you have high relation with your lord, he asks you to try to impress his daughter so you can marry her. A special sets of tournaments and duels start and wins get you bonus relations with the girl and losses decrease. At the end if you have a certain amount of relation with the girl, you marry her cheaply i.e. You pay less to the father. If you fail, the lord forces the girl to marry you but you loose relations with lord and girl. If lord dosent have that much like for you, he holds grudge and you stay single
 
Mission Title: Mason's Request
Mission Information: A mason from (name of village, town, or castle) ask you to deliver an XXXX amount of goods, he give me an amount of XXXX to buy this goods and in return he promised to give me a XXXX denars.
Mission Objective: You will deliver some goods such as wood, nail, iron, tiles etc.
Mission Reward: The promised denars, and increase Renown.
Mission Failure: Decrease in Renown and Reputation.

The quest goes like:

Mason we're in the middle of a stupid construction and we need supplies i might need some hand will you help stranger.
 
Mission Title: Pre-battle provocation and duel
Mission Information: Before the two sides clash, there is a duel between the champion of the two sides. Will the player participate in this duel when the commander choses him? (with a pitchfork, he shouldn't  :lol:)
Mission Objective: Defeat the enemy champion in a duel, who should be a monster to beat. I am thinking at a man with 10 iron skin, 10 power strike, 10 athletics, 30 agility, at least 30 strength (but can be 99), good armor, good shield :grin: Alternatively 2on2's, 3on3's, always on foot and spawning close to each other.
Mission Reward: +1 Honor and +10 renown
Mission Failure: +1 honor and - 20 renown


I think the best would be to have some 'while sitting in the castle' quests:

Mission Title: A night on the walls.
Mission Information: While being under siege, the player is on watchtower duty in the night (perhaps with a few mates). A few infiltrators appear at his section who he must defeat to sound the alarm!
Mission Objective: Defeat the 6-8 strong enemy force with 1-2 helpers.
Mission Reward: nothing, just something to do while waiting :smile:
Mission Failure: -20 renown


Mission Title: The lawmen
Mission Information: Their is a bar brawl in the city where the character is stationed. The drunkards have to be jailed!
Mission Objective: Defeat the brawlers (6-8 townsman) with the patrol (character 1-2 men), armed with cludgels or wooden staffs (which is given by the quest)
Mission Reward: minimal renown gain
Mission Failure: minimal renows loss


Mission Title: Bandit hunt
Mission Information: while stationed in the city, the lord sends out a patrol to hunt some bandits
Mission Objective: spawn with 4-5 troops in one of the bandit camp scenes, and defeat the 10-12 bandits there.
Mission Reward: renown
Mission Failure: renown


Mission Title: The pivot
Mission Information: There is a random problem which is resolved by a duel, where the player must act in the name of the ruler
Mission Objective: Defeat the champion of the 'other' side in a duel in the city.
Mission Reward: renown
Mission Failure: renown

Nice ideas. The lawmen and bandit hunt missions could also give a +3 relation with the town.

Mission Title: A Lady's issues
Mission Information: The lord's daughter or sister's husband is mistreating her.
Mission Objective: Give said lord a lesson in respect.
Mission Reward: Relationship + with lord, daughter/sister, relationship - with abusing lord.
Mission Failure: The opposite. (But still negative bonus for abusing lord)
 
So ...we need a Misson scripter :wink: these ideas are awesome! keep it up guys.
 
How hard is mission scripting? I'm a noob when it comes to M&B scripting, but I have done some tutorials on Python, so I could try to get into it if you could show me the ropes a bit.
 
Mission Title: Butcher In the Name Of
Mission Information: One of the Lords asks you to be a black Knight, a black rider. Your job is simple to go into to the town, village, or recently captured fief and make an example of random citizens. Some you will murder. Some you will bring back as slaves. Those who fight you will pay with their lives. Being a Black Knight is dirty work.
Mission Objective: Kill X amount of citizens. Capture X amount of citizens. Kill the resisters.
Mission Reward: +1500-15000 denairs, -25 - 100 honor
Mission Failure: Nothing
