Hi everybody.
so....
_ L'Hériller (Edmond Aimable) (1816-1896) Colonel commanded the french troops at the de Cerro del Borrego battle on 14 june 1862.
It's him that sent...
- Detrie (Paul Alexandre) ( 1828-1899) Capitaine against the mexicans  (leading by Jesus Gonzalez Ortega)
So L'Hériller didn't fight himself.
Detrie became a hero. His troops were 150 and the Mexicans 2000 but he winned

PICKETTS CHARGE at Gettysburg
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3po17QbHLRQ

I loved this video that recreates the battle of Gettysburg, but particularly, me and my son were touched by the humanity of those "brothers" officers, fighting on both sides, but still feeling bad for having so many "Americans" killed and injured....
The long, affectionate hug in the final scene is.....really more than words....
Thx for sharing

Another VERY interesting issue is the Innocent Gang of Bannack, Montana

Hello i tried this mod, and i must say it is a fantastic experience, ok it seems not finish but it is so much fun. I will not speak too much about other thing than history. I'm french an so i noticed the french uniforms in the game which are not that bad for a start, but legionnaires are looking like zouaves with Kepis, this is true that grenadiers pants of legionnaire can look like zouaves pants, but there was too legionnaires with normal white pants and mounted legionnaire etc... so i made you a little "diorama" of French Legion uniforms in Mexico: http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.php?id=119274Legionaumexique.jpg the good news it that you can make this uniforms quite easy with all the ones you already got !

Also there was french line infantry, and marine infantry and some others cavalry, i'll make others diorama for each ^^

I don't know if anybody has said anything before, but I'm very disappointed in the Mexico faction and it's lack of historical accuracy. The Mod is supposed to be set during the American Civil War. Yet, the regions in Mexico are completely out of funk regarding Republican forces under Benito Juarez, truth is, that even after the end of the American Civil War, The French Intervention in Mexico was still raging on until it ends June 1867.

I personally think that Mexican forces are done no respect. Officer uniforms are out of whack, and completely lack any variation from the officers (who hand splendorous uniforms) and those of the common foot soldiers. Yet, the French (who don't even belong in the continent to begin with) are given more emphasis regarding uniforms and equipment.  I think that the lands of Mexico should be divided to reflect the Taking of Mexico City in 1863 by French  troops, and the country should be divided between Imperials and Republicans.

Also, Imperials in Mexico also had some legit uniforms, I think they should also be included. The map is also way too spaced out, leaving too much space in between castles, towns, and villages.

The French uniforms are easier to research, as we have very little about Juarez' army in English. The uniforms in the mod seem to be based on a fairly old Osprey book about the conflict. The uniforms of the Juaristas seemed quite soberly depicted there.

Getting variation of uniforms and equipment is quite hard to achieve as mod if you have little resources for the Mexicans to begin with. Gabby did what he could with what he had.

AFAIK at some point the bulk of the Imperialist forces in Mexico were made up of French so it makes sense to reflect that in their party compositions I think.

I have some pictures from the Mexican Empire and the Republican forces I could share, I just don't remember how to add them to forum (its been awhile).  Anyhow, the black and white uniforms are actually (I think) supposed to be blue and red trimmed. If you've ever been to Mexico, you realize that black is not a color you'd want to wear during long marches.

You know, even in the loading screens the uniforms look black.. I figured it was an artistic oversight.

I meant, black with red trimmings.
