Mount&Shotgun Ready! (aka. Modern Firearms Pack 2)
« on: October 04, 2006, 05:13:14 PM »
Mod hasn't been throughtly or played, done in UE, punching in more then 50 items and messing around menus and bla bla... funny thing is all this work done under a week... I feel special...

Clean MBRepository version (and under 2mb!)
http://www.mbrepository.com/modules/PDdownloads/singlefile.php?cid=9&lid=313

Ahaha, the Colt 1911 screams for victory, open UE, find item_colt1911, go to triggers, edit the second trigger, so the "Sounds" is "man_death_21.ogg"

weird how did that slipped by...

http://www.badongo.com/file/1521278
(includes wrong sceneobj folder and sounds that weren't used)

54 models (edit; add two more few bastards slipped my count)

Name-Variations (combo means all possible combinations ex:lasersight&silencer and silencer&expandedclip... etc.)
Bar-drumclip
Barretta 9s-silencez0r-laz0rsight-combo
Colt1911-laz0rsight
Glock 18-silencez0r-laz0rsight-Expanded Clip-combo
Grease Gun-laz0rsight
Kar48-Scope
Mac10-silencez0r-laz0rsight-combo
Mauser c96-silencez0r-laz0rsight-combo
Msg90-Dipod
Remington 870-cutoff-fullsized-with shells on side
Thompson-Tommygun (drumclip with foregrip)
Sig Sauer (pistol)
Webley Revolver
S&W Model 681
Colt King Cobra
M67-Expanded Clip

Misc. Scenery Props, projectiles
Bullets (pistol, rifle, shotgun shell)
Bullets with clips
A Rifle case
Grenade
RPG (with rocket)
"Nuke The Moon" T-shirt
and ghosts of .50 Arctic Warfare Sniper, Sweedish Army knife and a dragon knife (placeholder exists)

Remington 870 MCS, full sized and breach weapon sized (breach sizeds pump is no longer in pulled state)
New MCS variation with shells on side

God, I loved Tommy Gun so much in Fallout 2 and Kingpin! But I just couldn't got used to Thompson in any WWII game.

I loved that one too! Grease gun... and I don't want to see anymore ww2 weapons for a while...
New M3A1 variation, with laz0rsight (placed right above ejection port )

...untill Mauser C-96 is done. I love that gun.
New variation with... again laz0rsight and silencez0r....

For something totally different (I'm aware and happy with textures other then sides)

The happy glock family missing Glock with only laz0rsight... he is always late for family meetings and I'm too lazy to get the bunch together again.

Been looking around for a repeating metal texture... instead I crammed in a texture for Mac 10... thought I should be doing Kar 98 or M76 or at least try revolvers... heh, comes in four flavours normal, silencez0r, laz0rsight, and with laz0r and silencez0r...

Could have been better but I'l happy. (Texture has been fixed before exporting)

Hail to the King Cobra! (whose grip might get done again). (whose girp just got redone).

Previous Pack (which is doomed to be shadowed by the one above)

A result of 3 hours working. Sloppy and badly textured (some of them just slapped on).

Hehe, despite the low poly models and textures, I like it! Now all we need is some modern clothing, well I guess retexturing the native ones will do. How 'bout a Remington 870 or some other more civilian-ish shotgun? Or a sawn off double barrel one! Some revolvers would be nice too.

Ahh well, pictures...

Pack includes a brf file with Colt 1911, somesortof Sig, Glock, Baton (with reversed variant), M3 shotgun, riot shield, a bullet, a clip with bullets (and two more variations, all to be used as scenery), a kevlar helmet (with a visor variation) meshes, and a 512x512 .dds. Just register texture file and create a material named "gunz" with any options you want to experiment (I guess the agent shader is used in screenshot).

Colt might get done again, riot shield is flat and badly positioned. I noticed adding triggers are a waste of time, there won't be anymore triggers on future additions. Baton is recommended to have only right slash other one handed animation clip (thought feel free to experiment). Also helmet, it is quite a lame reskin of leather cap.

All and all I think only the clips and bullets are the nicest ones :P
Anyone can use any content of this package as he/she wills.

M3 model probably have an untextured face somewhere, just ignore the "invalid texture coordinate" error (as I ignored to find it), if importing the mesh to another brf.

If you can live with low poly and subpar texturing REQUEST a gun (just rifles and pistols, I just can't do proper armor) with a clean picture of its side (and if possible both sides and top of it, just post the links not the pictures). I'll start doing them when a 512x512 or a 1024x1024 texture file is filled.

Also for more serious requests pm, but bear in mind I just won't commit myself to your CS:The Middle Age or Mount&Halo project.

Sloppy and badly textured my butt! (just joined the forums, but is not a forums virgin) personally, thats pretty impressive modeling for bad modeling, i can easily see the details on the guns! keep up the good work!

heh, you haven't seen top side textures of the models are accually sides of the models... and yeah, they don't suck horribly (expect the riot shield, it sucks).

Those are pretty cool. :)

How about some older style weapons like handgonnes, wheellock pistols, arquebuses and muskets?

Like these for example:

http://www.engerisser.de/Bewaffnung/weapons/Matchlockmusket.html
http://www.engerisser.de/Bewaffnung/weapons/Wheellockpuffer.html

It's just that they would fit in slightly better with the vanilla game, but only very slightly. :D

matchlocks maybe and, if I can figure which point should be pointed towards enemy, Wheellock pistol looks interesting.

To be honest, this is pretty confusing. The Remington 870 looks pretty damn good as far as M&B goes, yet I almost thought you were modelling for Quake TWO when I saw the pistols. I can't tell the poly count on the ballistic shield either yet the texture looks pretty nice. My suggestion is basically be a little more consistent, please.
