This is not my idea, Pandemonia has found a way to play as female and I think this mustn't get lost in the "I want to be a women" thread.

If you wanna play as a female in SP, here's a brutal hack to get it in.  I have NO idea if this'll screw up plot later on, or anything.  The datafiles for this game are kinda ugly to hack through with notepad.

Open
mount & blade with fire and sword\Modules\Ogniem i Mieczem\menus.txt
(it's where you installed it, or in Steam\SteamApps\common\)

Turn off Word Wrap

replace line 6 with this:

Replacing line 6 with that code will set the hardest difficulty.

If you want to play as female on easier difficulties, you could try the following code. I've tried to replace the code like Pandemonia, and it seems like it works. But don't forget to make a backup of your menus.txt!

I recommend using this mod to add female armor.
 
How does it work? do you get to pick being a female in the new game character screen orrr?
and does it effect the story in anyway? Im assuming everyone will still act like you're male though xD
 
You can pick beeing female instead of the hardest level of difficulty. This works, because the developers just removed the choice in the menus, so adding it again works.
I just don't know whether this effects the story and yes, everyone will act like you're male, but I think as a woman who leads an army in this century, you better pretend yourself as a men.  :wink:
 
You could always just put a dress on your male character, as well as having female clothes you will grow boobs.
 
Yes, you're able to change that, but I'm not sure how to do this, because it was not my solution.  :wink:

Replacing the 6th line in the menus.txt with this may work, but make a backup of your menus.txt!

I don't get it though. They have female characters in the story which you can pick up as teammates. So why on earth wouldn't they let you make a choise from the beginning?
And then I made another discovery. I might be wrong and I probably am, I hope I am. But I notice some clothes/meshes that have been used in mods for a very long time. Werent those models made by random modders? So how come they're using them in the new game?

As one of the people who worked on WFaS wrote:
By the storyline the main hero could become a Moscow/Polish tsar/king. Historically, it will be very stupid to see on the throne of Eastern European States a woman of examples in history is not, and this probably is the cause of this situation.

So if the WFaS developers thought it was stupid and don't want history changed then why did they give the player any choices at all? Why didn't they just make an historical documentary movie instead of a game where real history can't be altered by player choices?

Yes he can. Both are games. Games have designers, and they're absolutely free to put whatever they want in their games (unless the law forbid it... :wink:  )
 
Please ladies and gentlemen, there is a thread about the discussion, so don't do it here. This is just the solution for players, which want to play wFaS as women.  :wink:
 
Well, I notice the first group of bandits that I ran into addressed me as mistress. So not all the NPCs automatically assume you're male.
 
Thanks so much for this mod.

And I give a big middle finger to people and even the designers who might be upset Im playing as a woman in WFaS. I simply dont care, I wouldn't care either if the npcs were upset (in fact I'd prefer it), I'd love for men in the game to get all upset to meet a strong woman and try to stop my rise to power. This is a game, not a documentary, if someone wants to play a woman, its their right especially when the option was there, Europeans need to learn to stop being so sexist. "Oh my goodness a strong woman! We cant have that!"

And ironically, I am a Polish woman, hence the name Lena.
