1866 - Bug Reports (v0.9.1 only)

Users who are viewing this thread

Oi, me again.

I went into a fight against an enemy general (if it matters, he chased me down and challenged me). I got three friendly generals to join the battle on my side. When the battle screen popped up, it said our forces had 74 men against the enemy's 76; the battle advantage was -1 Before the fight, we CLEARLY had a lot more men; I know I had 33, an ally had 45, another ally had over 60, and the final ally was in the 30s, i think.

This isn't the first time it's happened....

If it makes any difference, I'm the marshall.

I downloaded the game and when i click in the download to open it I get an "NSIS Error. Common causes include incomplete download and damaged media. Contact the installer's author and obtain a new copy."

I've re-downloaded it twice.

The problem:

    What is the problem?
Runtime error when entering saloon for the second time in any american city.
    How did it happen?
Well, just tried to enter saloon for the second time, while in the city
    Where were you?
Tested in all american cities
    What were you doing?
-----------------------------------
    Any other important details?
Doesn't happen in mexican or indian cities

My computer:

    Operating System
Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit
    CPU
Intel Core 2 Duo E7300
    Total Memory
4 GB
    Video Card
Nvidia GTX 260

I am having the same problem on my new computer, except I am crashing in the Mexican cities.  I guess it is  a Windows 7 problem as my older , much weaker computer running Vista did not have this problem.
My new computer:
Gateway DX4850
Intel Core i5-2300 CPU @ 2.80GHz
6.00 GB RAM
Windows 7 64 bit
Galaxy GeForce GT 430

I hope there is some solution!  I really love this mod and after playing it for years on low settings, it was amazing to see it jacked up high.

Thanks!

for all having crashing problems, please read my post here before posting
http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,197235.0.html

it will solve all ur crashing and runtime errors!!!
please let the devs worry about other issues like actual bugs instead

@sapped
I already have the enhanced version and the appropriate patches and still having runtime errors. I wouldnt have posted this bug, if there would be a working patch/workaround.

Dunno if this can be classified as a bug,
kinda weird anyway...

do they hate each other?

I've seen Deserters fighting other Deserters, but never from the same stock (i.e. Comanche). However, maybe (probably) the game doesn't factor that in, and all Deserters can fight each other. I don't think it's a bug, but it is amusing

You could always go help one side in the fight, then kill the other

Problem: Error messages that shut down the game.

I've played 1866 mod since the first version and it is really cool. You guys have done a great job! 1866 is absolutely the best mod.
But now I faced a problem. I can play the game for like 10-20 minutes then I hear a message sound and see an error message. It happens quite a lot and I don't know how to fix it. It is really annoying. Error messages aren't the same everytime. Sometimes it is Runtime error and sometimes 'Unable to restore vortex buffer'.

Edit: Sometimes it give Runtime error message everytime I try the action that made me get message last time. The have to do something else and hope the other action wont do it.

Greetings

Unfortunately, it happens to everyone. The only solution so far has been to install Enhanced Edition of Mount & Blade, I don't know will it work for you but it seems that worked for a lot of the folks that installed it.
You should check this topic out: http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,197235.0.html

Thanks mate . I already readed that from sapped's reply but wasn't sure if it's safe to download. I'll download it right away.
Greetings

Dont know if this is a bug, but while doing the Bishop Lodge train escort mission, i found these strange wooden walls:

Yep, they look strange. Btw, it is almost impossible, that our companions don't fall out of the train, while doing this quest... There should be invisible wall around the wagon.

I believe the walls are there to make the mission easier... It's roughly halfway through the train ride, yes? So that way the bad guys from the first half can't follow you to the second half and overwhelm you? That was my way of understanding it.

Its something like the half of the half way, between the starting and the sharpshooter in the mountain... maybe its what you said, to protect you in the start from beign sniped, or idk, maybe a glitch that will be fixed, i think its a glitch, but its my opinion, thanks for helping me out

3 CTD's within the first few days ingame:

- being attacked while stealing horses
- encountering 22 deserters
- entering some location (not sure which one)

Wtf?
