OSP 3D Art WEe's Helmets/Shields/Weapons (Yarr) [Updated 2.4.2013]

A fine addition to our collection of loots around the globe. May I present you:

The fantasy helm. I have no better name.

Bare in mind that I only textured it. Made a few little changes to the model but otherwise, it's not mine. Ill add it to the pack if it's okay with the author.

But credit Mysterious_A if you do please. The model is his and was originally made for my mod.
 
They have already been done and they are downloadable osps. Please don't do those again.
 
I'm not sure about the second one Grunar posted but I know for a fact Dejawolf made a very good klappvisier. (The first one.)
 
Hehe, WEe, you have deffinetly improved a whole lot from your early models. I still remember coming across your early work in the 3d models thread. :grin: Splendid textures.

Without the horns?
 
On the mipmaps; using 5 stages won't really help much, as each stage is still going to kick in at the same distance.  And it's not the engine that handles that, it's your GPU's drivers, and the way the DDS was built.  Use sharpen stages on all mips past zero to help reduce the apparent errors.

I like the style, more helmets is always a good thing and that they're pretty much ready to paint on, but I can't see using 1024s for helmets on this engine (fillrate is a serious issue, even with batching) and I'm too lazy to reduce them and mirror them where possible to get the skin size to where it needs to be to save memory and improve performance, so I guess I'll have to pass for now :smile:

I can't wait to download the fantasy helmet :roll:(it's too awesome to resist the urge). When will you update again?
