Changing your avatar, signature text, or personal text (beneath your avatar) and Uploading Images

Ok, select "Profile" from the the five choices of buttons on the top bar of this webpage.
Next, look to the left of the screen and under "Modify Profile", select "Forum Profile Information".

Avatar:
On the new screen, there will be three different circles at the top you can select for your avatar.
The first is "Personalized Picture:" where you can choose an existing avatar from our default selection.
The second is "I have my own pic:" which will allow you to point to a picture on another site. Most people won't have a use for this option. Note that hotlinking an image from another site can cause problems for you with them.
If you want to upload your own avatar from your computer, select the third option "I will upload my own picture:". Following that, click the "Browse..." button to the right. Your "My Documents" folder will pop up and then you can browse to and select the picture that you wish to use. Then, scroll down the page and push the "Change Profile"  button at the bottom. After that, you can look at your newly uploaded avatar. Note that the forum will automatically resize any avatar it considers too big.

Signature text:
Find the text box with the label "Signature:" to the left of it. You can add in your signature text into this box. UBB code (to change the font, add links, add images, or the like) can be used in the signature text as well. When you're done editing it, scroll down the page and push the "Change Profile"  button at the bottom to save your changes.

Personal text:
Find the text box with the label "Personal Text:" to the left of it. You can add in your personal text into this box. The personal text will show up below your avatar, and should be short. When you're done editing it, scroll down the page and push the "Change Profile"  button at the bottom to save your changes.


Uploading Images:
While you can post images on the forum (see two posts down), the Taleworlds forum doesn't provide image hosting itself. Instead, there are numerous free image hosting services (such as Imageshack.us, Imgur.com, Photobucket.com or Tinypic.com, as some examples) where you can upload an image. Or, there is our forum-specific host, TWim, maintained by one of our community members (see thread). Most services will then give you a "forum link" URL code that you can use to post here within the [img] [/img] tags, as discussed below. (For the image to be embedded and automatically visible, the URL must end in the image extension--.jpg or .png, etc--not name.jpg/ with a slash.)

The forum rank system is based entirely on how much total time you have spent on the forums. Your rank therefore has nothing to do with how much you post, so spam will do you no good and can eventually get you banned if you keep doing it.
The required time is considered as solid activity, so for instance 1 day refers to 24 hours of solid activity on the forum. Your measured time online will however not go up if you simply leave the forums open, as it only tracks based on activity. 15 minutes of inactivity will have it consider you as offline.
