EGWarband is a multiplayer mod based on the Expanded Gameplay III mod for Mount&Blade. It redesigns the factions to be more unique and aims to make combat more varied and faster paced, while maintaining a good balance required for fun multiplayer. A more detailed description of the ideas behind it can be found on the Expanded Gameplay III forum.

To install, extract the mod files into your Modules directory to have
Modules/EGWarband 0.80 beta/mod files
You may need WinRar to extract the archive, you can download it here

This is a beta version of the mod to test the new factions and items, please leave your feedback in the forum thread of the mod here, especially feedback on faction/troop/item balance. If you think a particular item is too cheap, or horse too expensive, or faction too strong.

Fallen Ones are not planned -- too strong for multiplayer :smile:

The factions are the same as in Native except Sarranid are replaced by the Bear Clan.

no, but there will be other means of slow regeneration, when players are together in a group their spirit/hp will recover.

Same in name and general style, the factions are completely redesigned and re-equipped from scratch.

That's a perfect way to force teamwork!

I'm making an assumption that Charms of Fear won't be in, since they wouldn't work XD

Will we get any special game modes? Like pilgrim attacks, migrating bear clan attacks, and the like?

definitely not in the first releases, first I want to nail down the basic multiplayer.

Another feature I am considering is having 'books' that the players can buy in the equipment screen that will increase their skills for the next round. (+3 power draw/power strike/athletics/etc for 500 gold for example).

Make them "vodka shots" instead of "books" :smile:
But should not they be more like combat abilities boosts similar to EGIII, that you can e.g. fire once per mp round, or with a distinct cooldown time?
Also you might want to make equipment degrade with time to make it another gold sink. You are doing heavy fighting after all

gold is quite scarce in multiplayer already, there is no need for this I think

1st: nice work for the first release, hope to see more coming soon, especially new scenes/maps
2nd: unfortunately no server running your mod is on  :cry:
3rd:  I´ve set up a dedicated server to advertise and promote your work, at least till your server (servers) is on...

Currently online:

If you don´t want, that someone else is hosting a server, I´ll quit hosting your mod asap.

4th: Is your mod compatible with Vincenzo´s admin tools? If yes, it´s easy to add some awesome open source Battle/TDM/DM and Siege Scenes/Maps, even without the module system...

5th: If you like, I´ll PM you the admin password for the server.

6th: What is the best gamemode for your mod, is TDM okay or is the mod designed for battle? And any Suggestion for settings like "starting gold", "mins per round" etc.?

Thank you very much for setting up a dedicated server! That is great! I had been running a server on my laptop on and off, but this is much better. I will work on setting up one as well next week.

I am not familiar with Vincenzo's admin tools, but I am pretty sure it is compatible because I have not changed any multiplayer scripts yet. I'll have a look at it, or if you can add these maps yourself, go ahead!

The mod is designed for all game modes, just like native. I think Team Deathmatch is good for now, for first testing. It is also balanced for Native's 1000 starting gold, so everything should be fine.

Edit: Right now I run server on my laptop to test, could you (or someone else) please see if it shows up in the list of servers? Or maybe I need to open some port? Name EGWarband 1.
 
1st - I can´t find your Server in the list, is it a in-game host server?

2nd -  Try Vincenzo´s Admin Tools later, if it works, I`ll use the integrated 20 free slots  and fill them with new scenes for Battle and TDM.

Report succes or failure later...

yes, but I closed it just a minute ago and am now in your server. Do I need to do something extra for in-game server to show up in the list?
