My approach could seems anti-music, but fundamentally I'm really not.
I remember I tried long time to get free samples of Morin khuur, Balalaika, Citole or other instrument to match with.
Too bad I didn't meet you earlier.
Anyway, you could re-use my module_music.py file if you've planned to release a musical mod. (It may really help you I think)

This is AWESOME. I love the viking travel song. I can't wait to hear the rest. Someone really needs to do some coding work on the music system, if it's possible. There are a few really cool sound mods, but to actually have the music trigger at the right situations, times, etc, would be great.
