EGWarband is a multiplayer mod based on the Expanded Gameplay III mod for Mount&Blade. It redesigns the factions to be more unique and aims to make combat more varied and faster paced, while maintaining a good balance required for fun multiplayer. A more detailed description of the ideas behind it can be found on the Expanded Gameplay III forum.

To install, extract the mod files into your Modules directory to have
Modules/EGWarband 0.80 beta/mod files
You may need WinRar to extract the archive, you can download it here

This is a beta version of the mod to test the new factions and items, please leave your feedback in the forum thread of the mod here, especially feedback on faction/troop/item balance. If you think a particular item is too cheap, or horse too expensive, or faction too strong.

I will set up a public server on my laptop for now, and will try to set up a dedicated server on my other computer later.

Good. Do that so I'll get warband. I don't have it since it doesn't have EG WBand version.
PS are you going to twing the actual single player aspect of WBand too? Or WBand doesn't have single player?

no, I do not plan to change the singleplayer at this time. Multiplayer is focused on combat and that exactly what I would like to change.

There will be 5 factions:
Swadians, Vaegir, Nords, Rhodoks, and the Bear Clan.
 
No Onyx, they would have to be balanced vs all the other nations, which is not how they should work. I might include Onyx armor though.
 
hey chel, nice to see your doing multiplayer  :lol: warband multiplayer combat gets boring pretty quick i think, but you need to balance the speed with the speed people can manually block, unless your thinking of having auto block. Were still working on single player EG port. Its pretty much a combination of EG2 and EG3 at the moment as far as troops go, having a few graphic bugs were trying to sort out with the missiles and trying to balance the weapons.  Then need to add death immunity scripts, and maybe the EG3 skills (sprint etc.). Maybe just a case of copy and pasting and changing a few things though. Probably gonna add another major quest to lengthen playability not sure yet though. Think we'll release when were ready then we can get some input from you lot to see if you have any ideas / input on the mod.
 
hmm... we'll have to try think of something  :wink: you could just increase speed quite a bit and then release it as a beta and ask how people find it. Run speed and horses could do with speeding up anyway  :grin:

The first beta release should be ready by the end of this week, and I will see if I can set up a dedicated server on my old laptop.
As usual, in addition to completely rebalanced combat weapons and armor, the factions play differently from each other, with subtle differences in vanilla exagerrated and new ones added. The weapon types are also more distinct, as in EGIII

cutting weapons (swords, bows) are fastest but are bad at piercing armor, you need a really high base damage cutting weapon to take down a plated soldier, like a two handed sword.

piercing weapons (axes, spears, crossbows, sword thrusts) are slightly slower, shorter and with slightly lower base damage but cannot be stopped by armor completely and are much better vs armored opponents.

blunt weapons (maces, mauls, spear swings, axe thrusts) are also slightly slower, shorter, and also with a lower base damage, but armor stops almost none of it.

I say slower or shorter, but there are no slow weapons with speed below 90, and reach less than 80-90 either.

One other gameplay feature I want to add is slow regeneration of stamina/fighting spirit/morale (as HP regeneration) when your teammates are close to you. Because fighting is fast and furious, if you survive, you should be able to recover a little bit before the next fight, and this would also give more incentive to stick together.
The regeneration is going to be very slow if its only two players together, but better and better if more people are together, within a 10m radius for example.

Buddy, include the Onyx, the price system, the balance of weapons/stats and the immortality quest and you'll have my eternal gratitude.
