1. Play Native.

2. Complains about female_pilgrim here: http://rccclan.com/index.php/topic,307.msg3521.html#new

3. herp derp/This is Sparta!

PS: A bit more to 1.:
I started playing PWMOD on the RCC not long ago without a clan, without friends, and without ever hearing about this mod. Also, I played as brigand. I never got kicked/banned or even warned. I had some problems in the beginning, but that was only because of my lack in knowledge and got solved fast.

A no rules server(with roleplay) will only work if EVERY person is roleplaying. And since thats not even the case on a server with rules, why should that fact change on a server without rules? Will they think "Oh hey! There is no rules here, lets roleplay the **** out of everyone!".
I think not.

I would rather play on a server where randomers are forbidden but I guess for some people it would be fun to just hack n slash. But then they could aswell go and play native.

Three possible reasons

A: They cant be arsed to go on native by switching over mods.

B: They are born just to try and ruin others peoples fun...

C: English is not their first language and they cant understand the rules.

I can not see the point of a server like this, I am sorry. As a user stated above me, you will need every single person to be RPing, otherwise, it will be a Native Deathmatch, with cool trinkets in it.

So, I can not see this working out at all.

Actually, and I'm surprised none of you remember this, but you should all realize that the week of No Rules on RCC's server about a month and a half ago worked perfectly fine... I have screenshots of a big happy group of roleplayers somewhere on the forums... I think its in one of Novicius' various "no rules" threads.

In any case, it worked perfectly fine until rules were slowly reintroduced such as the "roleplay" rule and "new life" rule.

So some people stopped roleplaying because they were forced to?
And there were no "non-rolpleaying-people-who-goes-around-and-kill-all" people at the server when there were no rules?

That is most interesting. One would think that a person who is normally doing one thing would continue to do that thing even when hes forced to do it.

I remember back in the good old no rules days...

Had to remind some youngin's bout how the real PW world worked!

No, the only thing the server message said was "There are no rules, but remember: Just because you CAN do something, doesn't mean you should." I highly doubt that is the reason for it working, but there were very few "randomers" and most people were roleplaying except for the ones who just wanted a "non-rp role" (aka foot soldier who just follows orders). The only time admins did something in regards to kicking/banning were people who spawn killed.

In any case, "no-rules" doesn't mean you have to kill people, it just means there are no consequences for doing such and it can be abused (killing people for no reason) or it can be used sparingly (such as people insulting you or you just not liking someone - lets be honest, everyone has met someone they just don't like right off the bat)

After thinking about it, I think you just might be on to something.

The way I see it, any RP medium should be built to encourage proper RP. In the best case, to force it without the player knowing they've been forced. I'm not saying this server will accomplish this, or that this server will be super awesome, so don't attack me for that.

The way I see it, in a "no rules" server where randomers will be ever-present, you need to find ways to deal with it. And more importantly, thanks to the no rules, you can. How would armies back in the day deal with the threat of murderers/people who weren't happy with the current order of things? Kill anyone who looked like a threat. If I led a faction on this server that controlled a town, I would say this to my men. "Anyone armed from another faction is not allowed in the town. Anyone who draws a weapon in the town will be warned to sheathe it, if they don't, or if they keep drawing their weapons, they will be killed. Kill anyone involved in any fights (obviously join the side of anyone in our faction), and no one enters the keep without an escort." Randomers will be dealt with instantly if they enter the town, and all the while I would be running a faction that keeps control of its town in roughly the same way it would have been - killing any threats or opposition. Far too brutal for the RCC server, but would fit in perfectly here.

So this has potential to make it a place were RP is forced simply by playing. People want to strive for power in this no rules environment, and the best way to do it is to force it, and let's face it. Life doesn't have rules. But we deal with "randomers" in life, don't we?

Also, I would like to point out, numbers play a huge impact on the roleplay in any server. Every time I've went online with 20 or less on at the time, it was pretty much just people randoming, or the occasional pair sitting around RPing. Not much would ever happen. Factions would consist of three and they'd get nowhere, and people broke the rules and no one did anything about it. That's RCC. And I can guarantee, that will happen in this one under the same circumstances. The larger the player body gets, the better it gets at regulating itself and keeping the jerks in line. So if you get disheartened by your experience on the no rules server, look at the player count. This has a lot of potential when it's 60+ in my mind, because then you  WILL see factions rising and making their laws and enforcing them, because now they can. ... And they'll probably be jerks about it themselves, leading to a nice and fun revolution RP.

I'm probably just a wishful thinker though, and it will probably take a while before it has an semblance of organization.

I've given every server a chance, and every server other than RCC [EU] and TKoV [US] have given me a blatent no-RP experience. Hopefully, yours will be different.

when the server and map are up tell me.

i wouldnt mind sending some of my men to create some rp over there to try it out

server world location? EU or US?

Well NOV, sorry that I was a bit harsh. :/

I should have thought about it a bit more.

Good luck with your server! When it's up, I will check it out.

Also, when you need any help, ask me. Unfortunatelly, I'm no mapper, so I think I'd be not a great help...

sounds good.... if there are no rules who say: "do not random!"  there may be come up a faction who save unarmed and so on... and becasue the most ppl would like this faction it will become realy strong and so the faction can enforce rules
