cmp, I've got a player with Steam who, when using my mod's shortcut to the WSELoader.exe, has 2 copies of the Warband launcher start (sometimes) and then Warband running like WSE isn't active.

I think I know what might be causing two launchers, and WSE not being active is likely because he used the wrong launcher out of the two (no way to know which one is the one with WSE). Tell him to try with this loader, should eliminate the two launchers bug: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/30551702/WSELoader.exe
 
Hi, I am the one with the problem; decided to post here this time.

I installed the mod (diplo+pbod) to 2 different Warband installs: steam and non-steam.

I don't know if this means anything but I get this when I mouse-over the desktop icon. Two launchers hinted?

I replaced the old WSELoader.exe with the new one for steam install and still getting two (blank this time) launchers.
I can see WSELoader.exe in task manager though. It goes away when I close the correct (non-wseloader.exe) launcher.
Sometimes though, I get only one installer and WSELoader.exe doesn't start.

When I run non-steam install though, WSELoader.exe isn't there. I replaced the old WSELoader.exe with the new one you linked for non-steam install too: it still doesn't run when I run the desktop shortcut. Sometimes WSELoader.exe pops up for 2 seconds in task manager and then goes away.

Does it make any difference if I change the shortcut name?

This is no fault of WSE's, You must setup your own web server with ogp setup and direct the ogp server in WSE settings to the IP address of it, Then you'll be able to view your servers, It works fine on my servers & webserver so this can only be a problem on your side.

What? I'm pretty sure you don't need a webserver for OGP to work. When I implemented it I tested it by connecting with HLSW.

If everything goes well it will turn off real quick. If you use Steam and the first try fails, it will use an alternative method and stay open until you close the game.

It should open a console window with the output... if that doesn't happen then try running it from command line (winkey+r, cmd).
 
Found the source of the problem in the file strings.txt. I have translated into Russian Vinchenzo Admin Tools. I think I translated that did not need to translate. Although before installing WSE had no problems. Returned to the standard strings.txt and it worked. Thanks for your help. WSE is cool.
 
Yeah I get the console now, here is what's in it.

Game starts normally this time I guess. 1 launcher only with the right mod selected.
WSELoader.exe stays active even after the game has started but I guess it's normal since the console is active.
 
If I am to release a new patch to my mod, any reason not to include this version of the WSELoader with the 2.6.1 dlls?

Feeling so lazy to search in 1800 comments. So just asking, such an operation which could possibly recognize video formats and play them somehow, /like *bik files. ("play_movie")\ would that be possible?
 
Nah, I've reversed that part of the game by myself (for doing a launch-window skipper both for WB and MB1.011) and the video system is pretty rudimentary.
They not even use external libraries, just call

with a series of parameters. Wait a bit (fixed time) or until the player exits.

What I don't know is why do they do that... So they don't had to license it?, or... just laziness?. No idea!

Your best bet is using the in-game scriptable mission camera, as The Last Days does for cinematics.

Probably cmpx...whatever can hack it for you and add an operation that runs the program on demand waiting as specified.
But doesn't seem practical, nor safe.
