Yeah, I have to agree. The visuals and physics are spectacular, but I think it's very obvious that the creator concentrated first on making this astonishing dynamic terrain engine and only afterwards tried to figure out how to make a game out of it.
 
Sounds like it's a parable showing you what it would like to be a god that can only make tiny, imperceptible changes at a time.
