PATCH FOR OLD FIRM PART 1:  http://www.4shared.com/file/MqfLKIZH/Old_Firm_Part_1_Patch.html

Patch Fixes:

The first jump in training is now always do-able, and you will not fail due to faulty collision meshes.

Songs no longer "double up" due to still playing after you quit a mission.  They will now stop playing completely when you leave a scene.

The seventh mission, "Fire Raid", is still incredibly tough, but now at least has the possibility of being completed by normal human life forms if they are very careful and skilled.

The Twins will now join you in fighting the gang of security guards in the final dismemberment Test Battle.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is a Quick Battle mini-mod for version 1.011, which plays a bit more like an action-adventure game than traditional M&B.  It is Part 1 of a projected 2 part series.

There is no character creation, trading, or world map in this version of the Gangs of Glasgow mod.  Instead you play as Jack Curse, a retired MI6 agent, now tasked with infiltrating a Glaswegian hooligan Firm on behalf of Abraxas Corp., who wish to stir up violence in order to subvert the growing power of the trade union movement.

It's a series of very unusual Quick Battles (9 story-related, 2 for lulz and testing) that are designed to be played through in order.

Two new factions are introduced to the Gangs of Glasgow universe - Celtic and Rangers.  The story concentrates on the sectarian divide between the two, and the efforts of the intelligence services to promote and exploit this divide for their own purposes.

FEATURES:

DISMEMBERMENT -  Thanks go to everyone who helped with dismemberment (Rosha, Somebody, cdvader, and Al-Mansur).  Now you too will be able to do this:

Here is a video:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3dp_cEYWYQ

CARS -  They're not yet fully implemented.  The models are great, but... yeah, more work is needed by me in scripting.

of2i.jpg

MOTORBIKES -  They're great.  Thanks to JakCurse for the models.

PETROL BOMBS -  They explode and kill people.  Often people run into the burning fire left by the initial
explosion, and they kill even more people that way, so they can be lain down like traps in the path of your attackers.  What more do you want?

AUTHENTICALLY RETARDED AND DISGUSTING SECTARIAN MUSIC - Yes, the tunes really are this ****e in real life.  Apart from the good stuff, which is good.

I would like to make special thanks to GetAssista for his "stone-lobbing" scripts, the makers of the Steampunk OSP Pack for the use of the large, fat bodies, and Keedo420 for his "flaming skulls" script, now adapted into petrol bombs (or molotov cocktails, if you prefer).  I would also like to thank the makers of Mount and Blde, Warband, and the entire Taleworlds community.

Everybody else is already creditted, and they are all ******** great.

I hate you. Do you know how long it's going to take to redownload M&B with this connection speed?

I'm keeping both installed (M&B and Warband), since they don't take up too much hard-drive space, and great stuff is coming out for both of them all the time.  Plus, I need to figure out how hard it is to port stuff to Warband once I'm finished with this little mini-mod.  I've been told it's pretty easy... I hope so.

Hehe, I've been back for a while now.  Just haven't released anything new in ages.

BTW, I should say, I'll be decorating that stadium a lot more, with banners, flags, advertising billboards and all the stuff you'd see at a game.  It's kind of bare at the moment, but also kind of laggy due to the sheer size of the stands, so I'll have to find a compromise between making it look more real and keeping a decent fps.

Anyway, that's my problem.

Aye, what a thing to say!  They took me ages!  That guy's a cheeky bastard.

Mind you, it does look bugger all like the inside of Ibrox...  just remembered they've got blue gravel round the pitch nowadays, and the stands are covered... *sigh*

Ah well, back to work.

Wahahaaaow!

You're just getting better and better. You die for 6 months and then rise like a Phoenix from the ashes of you tomb.
If you ever get this over to Warband I'm sure it'll get huge.

Best of luck old friend.

Thanks NaglFaar.  You're in the credits for this one - your cars and buildings from the OSP modern scene props have been invaluable to me, and I'll be using some modified versions of the scenes from Ruthven and your zombie minimod as well (you did give me permission to use those... I hope... or did he...?  I'll have to check.  It was ages ago).

I have plans to port the whole thing over to Warband, for multiplayer too, but I better not make any promises till I know what I;m dealing with.  Do you know if there's any good documentation yet on what's changed, and what has to be done to port things over?  Is there a manual like the Jik's Module System Guide for 1.011?

Some compainion stuff in module_scripts has changed to support making them vassals, but for the most part it's new functions to play with. 'Course, there's a very good chance I'm completely wrong.

I'll be relieved if that is all that's changed, but I think there's been alterations to module_animations as well (it makes sense, what with all the new animations ).  There's new quests and stuff as well, but that should be easy enough to deal with.  I'm hoping I'll be able to copy over huge chunks of unaltered dialogue and stuff to the Warband module files without the game freaking out and going completely tits up...  but knowing M&B, it's not likely.

New functions, though!  I'm looking forward to mucking around with them!

If I've created something that you like, you are more then welcome to use it, don't ask. It takes time and I hate waiting

There's mostly new stuff in warband. I don't think that you'll have major problems porting it over. The only thing that you'll have trouble with is the server-client part.

wait, ported to warband? hallauljah, i got it before knowing about awsome mods like this and had to wait till news of this kind appered, now i can't wait

It's not ported yet, might take ages, but I have it in mind to do it.  I'm not a big fan of the animations in Warband, and not too familiar with the other stuff, but the ability to pick up an item off the ground or a shelf without it first having to be dropped by a dead guy is something I can definitely use.  I heard there was kicking as well, but not tried it yet.  I suppose you can kick people off servers, but that's not what I'm after.

Uh...  anyone know if Jak's still about these days?  My team's kind of drifted apart.  I'm doing most of the new models myself, but I kind of need somebody who's a lot better than me for a few items - police riot shields with transparent plastic, for one thing.  I know nowt about transparency.  Any volunteers?

That's exactly the kind of trouble I fear.  I hate online multiplayer games, and have only a vague idea of what server-client even means.  Last game I really played online was Operation Flashpoint - everything else I've tried is ****e.  (Not tried Warband onlinre yet).

Double-posting in me own thread.  Shameful.

Didn't want to spoil the dismemberment before release, but it's been pretty difficult, and that also means it's been pretty funny.  Check it oot!

Looks like he is electrocuted or getting into shock! Nice animation on the arm chopping though!

JDeNef13

Electrocuted, you say?  Hehe.  I'm keeping that on the quiet for now, but I'm hoping to include electrocution as well (found an easy way to do it - it's dumb, but it works fine, and looks okay).  Don't want to give too much away before it's out.  Surprises are good.

Ah well, back to work sorting out that animation.

I've got to say, this looks like it will be a riot, both metaphorically and literally. Going to be a hell of a fun time!
Awesome job with the Glasgow mods!
