Original Intent and Basics: 
This server is a platform to provide a home for various clans and individuals of the Warband community and to foster overall better relations through dialog and combat.  If you need the services of this server you may contact either of the server owners.  Balion_War_Room features standardized Medium Combat speed in Battle Mode.  In addition, various game modes will be run at times to cater to a wider variety of the community.  Special events will be detailed in the in the following posts.

Server Rules:
- Maintain a basic respect for all players.  Show respect and it will be shown to you.
- No purposeful TK'ing.  Kicks and Bans will be administered at the discrection of an adminstrator.
- After round TK's are not permitted and will be rewarded with a kick.
- Follow instructions given by an administrator to correct attitude/actions.
- Bot polls are not allowed and will result in a kick.

Date: Saturday - 4-23-11
Time: 7:00pm Eastern
Server: Balion War Room
Time Limit = 2 full hours of playtime
Passwords will be announced Friday.  As before Balion's side will login to the server 20 minutes early.  Defending side assemble your team 15 minutes early on a seperate server to ensure your numbers are correct.  At 5 minutes till 7:00 the password will be changed to the Defenders pword to allow them to begin logging on.  This will ensure not too many, or too few will be on either side.

Format: This will be will be a Tug-o-War format, but modified.  The event will begin with a Frontal Assualt on Tier 1.  The next will be a Port Assualt on Tier 1.  The outcome of these will affect how the attackers will attempt to take Tier 2. 
If both Tier 1 attacks were successful, the attackers will choose which point they wish to attack Tier 2.  The attackers also provide themselves with 2 chances to take Tier 2, if needed, by successfully taking both the Frontal and Port Assaults on Tier 1.  If the attackers successfully took one side of Tier 1, but not the other, they will only be allowed to attack Tier 2 from the side they successfully captured.

Tier 1 Port - Outcome Victory = Option to attack Tier 2 from Port.
Tier 1 Defeat Port & Frontal = Reattempt attacks

Tier 2 Victory from Frontal or Port = 2 attempts to take Tier 3.
Tier 2 Defeat from allowed assualt areas = Reattempt Tier 1

Tier 3 Victory = Win
Tier 3 Defeat Twice = Retaking Tier 2

If no clear victor is made after 2 hours of play the match is called a draw, unless enough parties wish to continue.

Teams: Great response coming from the community which is greatly appreciated.  Of course, with the more clans we have the faster all the slots get filled.  Also the issue of pairing clans to not create an one sided fight which is difficult as well.  My thoughts are to keep the larger groups together on the defending side and the smaller groups on the attacking side.  Defending will actually be a challenge this time so this will aid in keeping a balance.

So if you are wondering how the MultiClan Match went, here it is.

We won overall 8-7.  Seems close but we kinda loosened up on the last two rounds after securing the victory.  Our last round was a "Everyone Cav" charge that was pretty awesome.

Good stuff to all who participated and who may have missed it, take pride that we beat PRT, POM, and BKS.  We retain our undefeated status against PRT, continue to show our dominance over the PAMMIE WHAMMIES, and send a big snub to BKS who frankly think they are better than us.  BAH!  :roll:

The Grand Assault of Citadel Avitus
Friday, February 4th starting @ 8:00pm Eastern

Story and Backdrop: As the Nordic army closes in on the end of a continuing and very taxing war, one obsticle remains in their way.  If they can achieve victory at this stronghold they can finally return to their beloved ale and the whenchs that prepare it.  If they faulter here, all the time and lost hero's will be for naught.

Citadel Avitus was built for just a day as this.  King Graveth, upon first taking the throne, immediately began construction of this stronghold to outlast all others.  The largest of the Rhodokian castles, 5 times that of even the mighty Grunwalder, the mear sight of Citadel Avitus causes the steadiest of Huscarl to question if victory is even possible.

The construction of this mighty citadel lasted for 24 years.  It took over 10 just to create the expansive outer wall that stretches the perimiter of the entire stronghold.  Held with just within the outer wall is the commoners and serf quarters.  Being the most vulnerable of the walls, theses houses and low statured denizens would provide an excellent buffer if attackers ever did pass the outer ring.

The security of the citadel brought a grand amout of trade and with it wealthy merchants that came to do business without the worries of constant attack.  Their homes, businesses and churches were nestled within the second wall believing that only an army with the numbers never before seen could eventually reach that far.  With it's strong gatehouses and raised elevation supposedly preventing siege towers, this wall is believed impenetrable.

The third ring was built more to keep the lowly dogs of the city out of the sanctuary provided for the Lord to rule over the establishment than it was to protect the massive keep that is held within.  As the governmental center of the citadel is here, the prison is located below for it's poor souls to rot under the feet of the rulers.  To reach this point would be impressive indeed, but to actually succeed...and truly capture this wall and it's keep...that is just a fools errand.  Or so they say...


Basic Information: The Citadel is divided into 3 seperate maps.  Each map has it's own flag that will have to be captured for the attackers to move to the next part of the castle.  The overall goal for the Nords is to overtake the defenses and capture the Citadel's Keep.  The overall goal for the Rhodoks is to defend their last settlement at all costs.

The round timer will be set at 10-15 (TBA).  The attackers have a maximum of 3 attempts to overtake any map.  If, after a third attempt they fail to successfully capture the same map, the battle is over.  The attackers, or defenders, may concede at any point.  The maximum run time for the event is 2 complete hours from the actual start of the event.

That maps will move in a Tug-O-War style with the attackers beginning at the outer ring wall and attempting to advance to the keep.  If the attackers fail to take the outer wall, they attempt the assualt again.  If the attackers capture the outer wall they will advance to the next map, which is the second tier of the castle.  If at any point the attackers fail to successfully take the next objective they will return to the previous map.

Rules for Particpation:
- Clans are responsible for reading, understanding, and adhering to all rules before and during the match
- Clans will be allowed only the maxinum number of slots that are provided to them, unless a situation arises that additional troops are allowable.
- Clans will provide 2 competent commanders that will be points of contacts to make decisions as well as recieve important updates, including battlement information.
        - Defending commanders will be part of a walkthrough of the finished Citadel maps prior to the event.
        - Assualting commanders will recieve multiple information updates from their "sources" that are stationed inside the stronghold.  Tactical information such
          as weaknesses, potential breakthrough points, best locations (provided locations) of various siege equipment and ladders, as well as information
          possible enemy strategies.
        - Assualting commanders will not "see" the finished Citadel until the time of the event.

- Mercenaries will be taken on a first come, first server basis.  They may at first elect a side to support.  If no side is chosen they will be fairly distributed between the opposing forces.
- Mercenaries that apply first will be given guaranteed slots. (8 total)  Registrations after the orignal 8 are filled will be on a stand-by basis.


Miscellanious Rules, Information, & Disclaimer:
- All rules, regulations, or limitations my be changed at anytime per my discretion.
- All players will remain on their arranged team at all times.
- Every participant, clan or individual, is required to read, understand, and adhere to all regulations at all times.
- Disrespectful bantering of anyone will not be tolerated
- It is encouraged to keep the Global Chat clear at all times to improve important organizational communication during the match.
- Any player producing undesired behavior will be promptly temp/perma banned from the server with no questions asked. 
- Ventrilo information will be provided to each side that they may utilize as they see fit/as needed.

Tug-O-Warband: Was tested this past Friday with great reviews.  Questions were answered and slight modifications were made to enhance it.  What is it is a flowing form of battle that advances in to a specific goal.  It is in a since, a simple campaign of battles that lead to the overtaking of an enemies castle.  It is meant to substitute an advance campaign and provide a change to the current battle format.  Think of it as two factions invading each other's lands until one side is conquered.

The Process  : At the beginning of a match a faction (Nords, Swadia, ect) is chosen by each side.  Each faction has specific maps that have been assigned to them and are listed below. 

Nords : Plains > Port Assault > Nord Town > Castle 4
Swadia : Plains > Field by the River > Ruins > Castle 3
Rhodoks : Plains >  Ruined Fort > Field by the River > Castle 3
Vaegir : Plains > Battle on Ice > Snowy Village > Castle 1

The battle begins on a Random Plains(medium).  One round is fought on Random Plains.  After one round the map is changed to the next map in the rotation.  In the example below Team 1 is Nords.  Upon winning on Random Plains it will advance one step closer to Team 2's castle.  The next round will be fought on Ruined Fort, as that is Rhodok's next map leading to it's castle.  If Team 1 wins that round, the next round is fought on FbtR.  If Team 1 loses that round, the process returns to Random Plains.  The process continues in a power struggle, "tug of war", until a clear victor is shown by capturing the enemies castle.

The idea is continued until one side emerges victories.  In most maps the spawns will be determined by who is the "attacker" and who is the "defender" depending on which way the campaign is going.  With this premise in mind Master of the Field wins will not count as a victory except on Random Plains.  In essence one faction is defending their lands and Master of the Field eliminates a large amount of defensive strategies.

Search and Destroy has been implemented before a Siege assualt that will have a map reflecting the outcome.  If the defending side successfully destroys the attackers siege equipment, the castel will reflect this by having no damage to it done to it's walls or access points.  This provides a large incentive to succesfully attack/defend the equipment.

Actually i have no problem with other clans recruiting. 

The game needs more clans, and bigger ones so that scrimmages can occur more frequently. 

And who knows, another Tournament?! :grin:
