Current History of the Balion Mercenaries

As recorded by Balion_Captain_Mad_Dawg, "head_explosion" approved by the infamous Hoboknight_McBeverage.

As the tales and stories of the Balions grew so did their reward and renown among the Lords of the land.  So much so that, upon a sad day, the coffers of the great Hawke_High_Balion were overflowing with gold and recognition from men so abundantly that he could sustain further compensations no longer.  His quest had become complete. 
It was upon this day that Hawke passed the sword of the legendary Konrad on to his trusted captain and brother in arms with the hope the Balions would continue their quest of fulfilling the promise that was made so many years ago.  Having a desire so great for riches and notoriaty that he could not be stopped, the captain with his faithful band pressed forward in their pursuit.  Reaching for the only meaningful attributes in a ruthless realm such as Calradia, Gold and Glory.  The trabadours wrote praises and kings paid homage to the Balions for their services in battle. 
As the stories grew so did the desire for others to take part in the granduer that is to be "A Balion".  To train the next warriors and specialists of war a new band was created to aid in reaching such a high aspiration.  Feared among many, as they should be, this Balion Guard emerged to sustain and increase the procurement of men's fortunes.  Acting as two groups and yet one in the same the Mercenaries and the Guard ventured forth, carrying high anticipations and unquenchable desires for the value that men could give unto them....their own...Gold and Glory!!

Pre-History of the Balion Mercenaries

As stated by Hawke_High_Balion, recorded by the infamous Hoboknight_McBeverage.

 

Several years after the famous mercenary Konrad died, his grandson Hawke came from Balion to see his grandfather's grave, in order to fulfill a promise given to the grizzled old mercenary by his mother years ago. Konrad's wife had borne no sons, merely a daughter, and she promised Konrad that upon her son's coming of age she would have him take up Konrad's blade and start a group of  mercenaries, named in honour of their family: the "Balion Mercenaries". Hawke then ventured to the cave  where the old sword was stored and brought it to a cottage in Praven announcing that he has the sword and is starting a Mercenary Band. Years after this, the Balion Mercenaries reputation is such that not a  soul in Calradia hasn't heard of the fierce band and those who they've fought have all been slain save for a select few, whom they let survive to spread tales of their valour and might.

Clan Information
Balion Mercenaries is a professional clan that focuses on strategy, camaraderie, and teamwork to attack and defend from all those that would oppose us.  Our main objective is to have the best time possible while enjoying the incredible game of Warband.  As Balions we strive to conduct ourselves in a respectful manner and ask that others reflect the respect that is given.  If you wear the Balion tag your conduct not only reflects you but all other Balions as well...so think before you act.  But not to be too stuffy...we enjoy Warband to the fullest and have a great time as the small, tight community we are.

We Balions are a competitive clan that regularly schedule and "Merc" for clan matches.  We have our own Warband server that shifts to many different play styles to keep things interesting.  We have and utilize our own Ventrilo server as our form of communication and require you access it to participate in events.   A microphone or headset is not required, just that you can listen to the commands being given.  We hold practices as well to prepare for upcoming matches and use our Vent server to find other members during normal play. 

We also will join together with our sister clan, The Balion Guard., to meet the demand of a worthy adversary.  While the Guard operates seperate and has it's own matches, it's leadership is still instituted through the Balion Captains.

Serious Recruiting Information
We are a US based clan, but have and welcome members located anywhere in North America.  Many of our members present and future have graduated from the ranks of the The Balion Guard.  The Guard was established to focus on training and the development of players that possess advanced skills.  If you feel you are in need of such advisement please seek them out.

If however you feel that you have advanced yourself in training on the field of battle to be inducted into the ranks of the mercenaries...we will provide a "Trial-of-Arms" to provide evidence for this belief.  This trial will be different for each individual as to show that players best abilities, therefore details will be arranged upon your application.  Your performance will be evaluated by the Balion Captains and Veterans and a final decision will be made.  If you wish to test your fortitude in combat in such a way post here in the Mercenary thread or contact me, Mad Dawg, via PM.  Do you have what it takes to be a mercenary?  Lets find out.   

(Inactive Guidelines) - If you remain inactive either on the TW Forums or in Warband for 30 days you will be "probational inactive".  If for 45 days you are officially inactive.  Inactive may be reinstated if desired and approved.

If you are an unpleasant individual, please do not bother.  If you feel you will not be active after joining, please save you and us the time.  If you have Ego issues and do not see the value of others because your view is blocked by your own suedo-pro status....continue being "So-Pro" alone.

Hey you! Yeah you!  The random forum member reading this right now.  Crave or desire to participate in clan matches?  Wish everyone in your server that is doing their own thing would "Work Together" to actually win?  Tired of the "Everyone go Cav" strategy being the best solution to, "How do we beat these guys?".  Well look no further my friends.  You've arrived at the salvation to your Warband blues.  Join a clan. Clan Rank Descriptions
Balion Captain –Captain is the overall leader of all the mercenary ranks.  He looks to provide adequate training and opportunity for his men to prosper in both their purses and in their fighting skill.  He directs the battles when the mercenaries go to war and handles diplomacy when not at war.  A Balion Captain may always be looked upon to do what is best for his men in any given situation.

Balion Veteran  –  A Veteran has displayed admirable qualities on and off the battlefield.  He is a trusted member of our group and is looked upon for leadership and performance during battles.  A Veteran may be trusted with your life and safety as he has proven himself worthy of trusting. 

Balion Mercenary – A Mercenary has joined our ranks in search of gold and glory…and will surely find it.  He can hold his own in a fight as his fighting skill is his livelihood.  If enlisted, he can surely perform the tasks you lay before him.  He understands how to fight as a group and understands that a group’s success depends on his execution of orders.  Pay him well, as he will surely perform well.
