What is it?
It is a mod based off of 6 Indigenous tribes of North America; specifically the Huron, Iroquois, Sioux, Cherokee, Aztec & Navajo, it is going to partially revamp all the dialog and characters, and change the environment of Caladria

Plans:
This mod plans to change the behavior of the player to feel more connected with a fief/town
No ransom brokers, no minstrels as these will be replaced by shamans (maybe Elders)
Maize will be added, as well as chocolate, deer meat, buffalo meat and spices
Beef/Fresh Beef will be removed or swapped for venison (deer meat)

Green: Done, no issues
Orange: Working on
Red: Can't continue, need assistance
Black: haven't started yet

Work:
Iroquois Confederacy  98%(Characters, Troops, Names of places, Chiefs(lords) etc..)
Aztecs 37%
Dialog changes
Faction colors

Redo the dialog so AI doesn't say "Lord"
Continue testing

Here are the people that I'm looking for currently (PM if your interested):

Researchers: Look up clothing from those nations and any information on the Cherokee specifically, all tribe information would be greatly appreciated  :grin: (I've got the Iroquois pretty well covered)

3D Modelers & Texturers: Need to make map icons, textures and models for armors found, new banners, new scenes, Native American skin textures, war paint, new horses

Artists: Need new drawings for the menus, signatures & main.bmp drawing(the module loading picture)

Sorry if this seem to stupid, but are you going to add Aztecs/Mayans/Zapotecs/Mixtecs? I saw that you said 6 tribes, but it would be really, really, REALLY awesome if you could add the Aztecs. They did live in North America after all...

It's, infact, a good question.

I think it would be wonderfull to add this faction(and many others), but I also want to have some more testing once the first 6 factions are done. If they go well, and all is good, then I would say there would be more factions if there was enough demand for it :grin:

mmmh, i like the troop tree itself, but to me the unit names "recruit/militia/footmen" sound a bit too european/feudal.  :neutral:
maybe "recruit" coud be something like "youngling" or "youth".
"militia" could be "hunter".
"footman" could be "warrior", and then "Iroquois Warrior" could be changed into "Iroquois Brave".
Just an idea.  :smile:

Thanks for the input, I was originally thinking about tribesman for the recruit, but this is much better! :grin:
 
Or perhaps you could get the names translated into the Iroquois' own language. It would at quite a bit to the atmosphere.

This is a great idea, however I don't believe it would translate appropriately.  :cry: Also, there were five (later six) tribes in the Iroquois Confederacy and only two (tribes) have written languages.  I don't want to offend any natives with a bad translation, or misrepresent information due to language barriers.  I am, however, making up for this with the original names of towns, forts, and villages, also the native flags or symbols will be the specific faction's flag (ex: the Hiawatha wampum belt for the Iroquois)

I don't want to bug anyone, but do the Aztec really belong in this mod?

Their civilization was to be found far more to the south than most of the other native american nations that are currently present...
It would make some sense to replace them with the Shoshone, who were distant relatives of the Aztecs.

Also, I'll see what I can do for your menu art :wink:

could you change the words to a different colour its very hard to read
 
I thought about that, but I think that Green fits the Aztecs best. I can make another banner though, don't worry.
 
Isn't it a bit premature to put aztecs on it? I mean it isn't even sure that they'll be in the mod. Or have I missed something?
