"Start a new game" option grayed out?

I just found out something pretty weird. In my game the "start a new game" option is grayed out. I can only load an existing game. Anyone know what might have caused this, and how to fix it?

Edit: My bad, I found out. Looks like the game doesn't let you start a new one unless you have an empty save slot... goodness, ain't this clunky design lol.

Yep - encountered that one too, gotta delete the old savegame first.

You only have a slot of about 12 savegames or so. When that slot is full, you can't make a new game.

granted, this method of saving is a bit archaic, most likely your not going to replay at least 1 of those old saves.
