Not getting renown for beating Lords?

Hi, since the latest patch, I restarted a new game, and have found that when I pick a fight with a Lord, it shows renown for the battle, but after beating him, I do not get the renown, none at all. I do get it when I fight bandits, deserters etc. I tried three fights with Lords, and no renown added for any of them.

Has anyone else found this? perhaps I need to reinstall. I did start a new game and have no tweaks as yet.
