Map Editor for Warband

Bioxx and myself are working on "just" making a map editor for mb warband... lol

But it's not such a trivial thing to "just" do (and do in our free time).  Thor obviously put a lot of work into the old editor.

If you don't want to use Thor's editor, for major map changes you could use a full 3d editor like Wings3D and convert that to M&B format http://www.mbrepository.com/file.php?id=1839.  You'd have to be careful since a 3d editor gives you full control letting you screw things up if you do something crazy, and of course you'll have no idea how the map looks until it's been tested.  If you do this I'd be interested in seeing how the latest version of my editor behaves when importing such a custom map.  Bioxx would be too I'm sure.

For major settlement editing I'd suggest you learn how to do it using the module system. My editor (link in sig) lets you change settlement location and "direction" (rotation) easier than doing it by hand, but other than that it's still very much a manual process for now.  Also keep in mine my editor works with module file(s), not txt files (which it sounds like Thor's editor works with).

I am constructing a map for a mod. But since i have a mac, I need a definitive path in the settings.cfg. I was just wondering if anyone has done it before and if it worked.
 
i`ve got 2 errors when i open editor
1.loadDDSTextureFile couldn`t find, or failed to load "Mount&Blade Warband/Textures/quests_window.dds
2.loadDDSTextureFile couldn`t find, or failed to load "Mount&Blade Warband/Textures/trees.dds
What should i do with that?

hi, I want ask some help but first I give some infromation. I copied a whole folder of native (1.15:cool: to mount and blade/mods folder then I modified it as made new world map and signed new party places and then I moved my modified mod folder back to native and when I started the game it crashed. So is there any solutions? And I haven't done any brf stuff.
 
my appologies of this mess but I already solved the problem what was that had deleted all bridges (in parties txt.) from map but I changed thinks by butting all settings of bridges off (using morgh's editor). But thanks of quick anwers :smile: and please if you know how to make travelling with ship without cheating then inform to me because I would not need to seek from other guys mods as game of thrones or brytenwalda.
 
I seem to have an issue when i am loading the game to start a mod.

It keeps coming up with could not load "load_menu_back_a"

Then i get an RGL Error saying :

get_shader failed for : Render_to_depth__biased_shader

any body had this problem or know how to fix it.
 
Honestly the best way i got it to work was to download the demo of mount and blade from steam  :shock: and then path thogrim map editor to it  :lol: and it worked :razz: then transfer the files(for the map) over to warband after i am done
