The Eagle and the Radiant Cross for Warband 1.134



List of features

    * All factions, troops, and features ported, with minor adjustments and inclusion of Warband items in certain cases
    * Formations (configurable in camp: J to follow you, K to follow Standard Bearers, U to cancel),
    * Mounted Standard Bearers and kingdom heroes will rejoin formation once dismounted

    * Each town gets its faction's equipment in tournaments, mostly color-coordinated (by Heraldric shields)
    * Tournament fighter retinue expanded; round performance changes relations with other heroes

    * Faction-specific equipment now only available by culture
    * Bandits and deserters now infest villages according to their region
    * Village defenders depend on faction and improvements (and affects rate of raiding) - in addition icons will change properly
    * Losing battles will cause you to lose more items - however you are able to loot freely after winning
    * Guns can be switched to melee by pressing X

    * You can recruit faction town troops as mercenaries if you own the town of a defeated faction in addition to volunteers
    * You will now be addressed as a peer of the realm when you pledge and receive an item in addition to bodyguards
    * Standard Bearers now increase morale and decrease upgrade costs
    * Custom Camera and adjustable Deathcam with angle/distance control
    * Many patrol command options
    * New bandit lairs and corresponding dialogs/scenes
    * Rescued prisoners and routed troops will reinforce centers
    * Custom Battle includes 3 tiers, new and old heroes, 10 factions and MP battle + SP siege maps
    * You can meet startup merchants later in your adventures and buy surplus items
    * Custom troops and other features available from training grounds
    * Duel lords with any type of weapons you can use
    * Item mending and custom troop equipment from merchants
    * Ask for surplus equipment for custom troops from lords
    * New village economic menus and garrison based on existing improvements
    * Lords can upgrade existing equipment modifiers
    * Keep weapons and shields you've picked up after battle
    * Hire bodyguards to follow you everywhere (experimental)
    * Manage your centers by right clicking on them
    * NPC lords will upgrade equipment and manage their own centers
    * Faction-specific map icons for caravans, patrols, and lords

Thanks for the reply. I haven't played around with the module system since 0.7xx, but I did use the 12/01/09 source as a reference for the text editing, so I'm not sure how much of a help I'll be.

Doesnt the flintlock pistol have a proper trigger for firearms?. I know its still there, in item_kinds1.txt.

Yeah, it does, but the trigger for the hand cannon is different. So you might need to port over sounds.txt and particle_effects.txt.

Yes, i know about the handcannon, but the others should work.
One of the first things I did to work around the firearm triggers is to make placeholders from the flintlock triggers and copy over the stats and model of the other guns. Unfortunately the animation flags and other tags are different, and so you'll see arquebusiers holding their guns at 45 degrees and reloading them like a pistol. There are only flintlocks, arquebuses, and calivers right now. The handcannon will have to wait until the module system I think.

I have installed the mod and overwrited all the indicated things, but at a point of the 'Loading Textures' screen, it closes the game and brings out a error message, something like 'unable to load textures: weapon_24.dds'. I will look in my folders, but still I thought saying this here would be of any help.

EDIT: The archive is here. I tried again, and the exact error is:

RGL ERROR
Unable to open texture file Modules\Eagle and the Radiant Cross\Textures\weapons_024.dds


What should I do?

Thought as much after posting. I forgot about the musket flags and such. We will have to wait for the Module System to fully understand the new flags.

Have you checked if that texture is on textures folder?. Is this line on the module.ini?

scan_module_textures = 1

I have tried the new download, and it brings the same error back. I opened the texture with open BRF and it can be seen.

What .brf file and load with what?
Download OpenBRF (you can find it on the Developer subforum-Unofficial tools), open eagle_radiant.brf file and see if that texture loads there.

But Game still dont load.
