Before you start posting, please read over the rules.

-No piracy, talk of piracy, talk of warez, or anything of the sort.

-No porn, you may not post naked pictures on our forum.

*note*- As we know the ages of gamers ranges from adults to young kids, and well... let's not contribute to corruption

-No Trolling. Do not come to our forum to start a fight or to make a "I hate this game and the whole world to boot" comments, if you do this will be a short stay.

- Flaming. I do not like to see verbal jabs thrown over the internet, don't pick fights with people here, if you feel you have to fight... real life.

- Polite. Like your mother told you, treat people how you want to be treated, be polite and understanding of other forum members.

- Internet slang. This is a tip, if you want to be taken seriously please try to use proper grammar and refrain from chat room lingo. Meaning try not to use " u, r, l8r, cuz, " etc. Please take the time to make a coherent, and somewhat intelligent post. If people easily understand what you mean, they can better help you answer a question, or comment on a suggestion.

*note* to the rest, if someone does make a post riddled with spelling errors and bad 'gramma' please don't ridicule them. We all make errors or even... skip words in the middle of sentences (me  :  )

-Spam. Do not make multiple posts right after each other with the same ideas, combine them into one. Spam bogs down the forum and makes it take long to load. Also, please don't use one word answers like "no" as a whole post, explain and elaborate. Or just don't post.

-Topics. Create them in the right places, this makes the forum easier to navigate for new and old members alike, if you're not sure where a post is supposed to go, ask a moderator.

-Cursing. We don't wan't to implement curse filters, they are a pain in the ass   so please, use common sense. I don't wan't to see f bomb warfare.

On a side note, I like to work closley with fello forum members so i'm always open for suggestions, if you guys have something that bothers you, or something you think should be elaborated on more, or added, please PM with your ideas.

Thank you all.

Very sound rules indeed.

I don't really have much to add to those except the following:

No deragatory or insulting remarks against a religious group or ethnicity. No hate propaganda whatsoever.

The fact of the matter is, there are always going to be folks who don't yet *grok* the whole forums thing.

Quite a few are just young, and don't always know better. Some of them are just plain assholes.

Sometimes, folks don't intend to be difficult - or don't realize they are.

Many times, it is not intentional (whatever they do - argue, multi-post - whatever).

It is like any other culture, it takes a bit of attention and patience (on both sides) to learn.

The key is the willingness to learn.

Folks might find the game, and then this board, and just be passing through. Not interested in becoming part of the 'community' - but just looking for a 'quick' answer.

And, many other possibilities.

You see there are a whole lot of different perspectives that come together here. Most importantly - in order to all get a long and be a community of people with a common interest in M&B - we all agree to abide by set of standards.

We don't get personal, we don't insult people. We educate when we can, and above all we are polite. As a community we have developed guidelines for behavior. Some of those guidelines might not initially make sense to someone who is new to the community - but the fact remains - those guidelines are there for a reason.

One of the primary purposes of this community is to act as a "repository" for knowledge about this game we all love M&B. We have all agreed to pool our collective knowledge so that all may benefit.

To do that, we have tried to define some structure to our environment. Armagan and the mods have set up certain forums for certain kinds of discussions and information. There is a logic behind this - it makes it easier for someone to find an answer to their question this way.

This is also the way we try to keep the information we are sharing A) up-to-date, and B) easy to find.

Things like multi-posts, going way off topic, starting a new thread when there are already several on the topic - these things make the search utility (limited as it is) even more confused. *grin*

Well not really - the search engine does fine - but what REALLY happens is that when someone searches on something they find 10 threads on it - instead of the one or two good ones that have all the info -
Again, this happens because people don't search first and start a new thread (like my all time favorite - "when will there be multiplayer M&B?" Uggggh)

So the bottom line is - if you want to be in the community - then you gotta follow the rules.

I hope folks who decide to hang here take the time to read the stickies and learn the culture, join the community and have fun with this great game.

Just my opinion, your mileage may vary.
